Mack Brown and Bob Stoops coaching rivaly is the biggest in college football

It's hard to believe that Brown (1998) and Stoops (1999) are 3 and 4 when it comes to the longest current tenure in college football. Time has flown by..

But this game, The Red River Shoot Out, always seems to be the epicenter of recruiting, definition of the state of the program, conference championships implications, and national championship implications.

Are there bigger rivalry's...yes. But as for two coach's of two top programs who are fighting each other for excellence the Mack/Bob coaching rivalry is bar none the most intense.

With what looks like Brown heading out the door, I imagine that perhaps Miles (2005) and Saban (2007) will take over as great coaching rival in college football.

One has done better at beating the other, and at winning conference championships. One has done better at total wins and winning bowl games.

They both have an Achilles heel that frustrates the fan bases.

Stoops cannot get it done consistently in bowl games.
Brown cannot get it done consistently in the RRSO.

Ummm, Stoops and OU have played in the Cotton Bowl twice (getting routed in 1 of them), Independence Bowl (lost), Insight Bowl, Holiday Bowl and Sun Bowl. Stoops has had his share of non BCS bowls, too and still loses.
