CTE awareness is real. Players don’t want to become a vegetable by age 40.

At some point money doesn't matter as much...I'm sure he's socked some cash away and should be okay in that regard, but being able to do "normal" stuff in your 30s, 40s, 50s...has to weigh something.

Sad to see him leave the game so young, but I'm happy for him, and I'm sure his family is even moreso.

You should replace AB with Luck. Brown is an idiot who is sabotaging his efforts to get back in the league. The early retirement trends will keep going. I'd retire after I had 10-20 million.

I think he was fishing for a reaction.

Gronk and LK retired. AB can’t get a job.

Yep, and I think we'll see it continue. Colts left tackle Castonzo is thinking of retiring too. He's 31 and one of the better LT's in the league.

Sean Lee > Luke Kuechly
Not even close.
Even after the eye test, the stats are vastly in favor of Kuechly.
Lee has been in the league 2 more years than Kuechly and has 310 less tackles, 4 less INT's and 8.5 less sacks.

But I assume you were joking.

Yep...love me some Sean Lee but he's not close to Kuechly's results on the field

Especially if they've planned their future they now have the freedom to enjoy their lives before they get old.
When you have 20+ million dollars, you can just travel and enjoy your life and family.

I was

Had it not been for Lee's numerous injuries and missed games, his numbers would be better. Wreckless and Wild takes its toll on LB's I guess.

Luke was the greatest Panther and best football player I've ever seen come thru this organization. Gonna miss him for sure.

I can see him becoming a coach. His football I.Q. is off the chart. Not sure if he can teach some of what he knows because it seems to be a gift but if he could teach defensive guys half of what he could do, he'll be successful. I really wish him well whatever he does.
there is word he may go back to BC as an assistant under the new head coach, sooner than later, to get that ball rolling.

No it isn't.

No one player is going to completely change the league. Antonio is not Michael Jordan.

For you to hijack a thread about Luke Kuechly with your tired AB rants is bush league even by your standards.

Oh, I took it as players retiring early as being bad for the league. I agree with that. AB in the league is bad for the league, but he's not retired.
Still great players like Kuechly and Luck retiring in their 20's is not good for the league.

Joe Thomas retired after his 32 year old season.

It's bad for the league to lose top talent. It leads directly to a less talented league.
