Wow, didn't see that coming. Great player, probably as smart of a middle LB that's ever played.

Retire at the top of your game. Barry Sanders style...still he was young. Wow!

CTE awareness is real. Players don’t want to become a vegetable by age 40.

I thought he seemed to be susceptible to concussions. Am I wrong?

    If so, definitely makes sense

Smart kid, realizing there is more to life than football. And Carolina sucks so.

Makes sense. 2 serious concussions and he wants a life outside of football. Good for him. Wish him well. I can see him being an LB coach or even a DC in the future.

I can see him becoming a coach. His football I.Q. is off the chart. Not sure if he can teach some of what he knows because it seems to be a gift but if he could teach defensive guys half of what he could do, he'll be successful. I really wish him well whatever he does.

I remember hearing someone say that he was considering it an off season or two ago. I can't say that I blame him.

Bout as bad of news as you could get, the team is totally different with LK out. Gonna be a new chapter.

But having gone through the concussions/other, he's not making this call for no reason.

He had his head beat around pretty good the last few years and maybe with the new coach and everything said it is time
