No official word yet, but I had one a few years ago and he was holding his arm like I did. He will probably be out for the SB....Patriots will win.

I certainly hope you are wrong about that. As much as I detest Sherman's antics, I do respect him as a football player.

I don't like him but I hope nothing is broken.

Would suck to see Seattle in the superbowl without him.

I do think something is broken though. No way you hold your arm like that for more than a quarter unless something is broken.

I think they can beat Indy without him or with him at less than a 100% but the Pats would be a different story

Same here and to be fair to Sherman this is the first time in 3 years where he have not really done anything to make me dislike him. The previous 2 years is what made me dislike him

He has a hyperextended elbow that there is a loop showing how he got his arm stuck under Kam's arm and got bent back.

I have no idea how serious that is, but that's what they were calling it and it looked very much like it.

Who hit him on the sidelines on that play? Was it Chancellor?

I hope not. The Pats already get enough help from their good friend Goodell.

He got his arm stuck under Kam's at the end of the play and it bent his arm back the wrong way at the elbow.

So you're a doctor and can diagnose via television?

Nice.

I was thinking this, because of the way he was holding the arm against his body. Not even putting his other arm up, makes me believe it wasn't a hand/wrist injury.

Anyone who can't appreciate Sherman tonight is just a hater. The guy was clearly hurt and never left the game. He covered with 1 arm and Rodgers still didn't go hos way. That was gritty.

I'm guessing broken collarbone too, for the same reason. I broke mine in HS football, and I held it the same way, to keep it from moving. I don't go back into the game though, lol. I know of 2 other people who broke theirs as well, and they also held their arms the same way. Basically, it causes the least amount of pain.

If Sherman indeed has a broken collarbone, I will gain a new level of respect for him. That's a painful injury.

I hope you are right. Without Sherman, the Seahawks have little chance against the Putriots...But even if it is hyper extended, not sure he will be effective, even if he plays, in the Super Bowl.

Maybe not a doctor as far as we know, but two people now in this thread saying essentially the same thing is kind of interesting. We'll find out in more detail later on, anyways.

Edit: I do have to say I assumed it was an elbow/arm issue.

Agreed....I don't know how he was able to play in that much pain. I had one a few years ago and I was is immense pain for well over a week.

It actually looked like he got it stuck between the GB player and Kam trying to hit the ball out. But I did see it hyperextend a bit.

I don't know about that. The big threat on the Pats offense is Gronk and Kam will probably be on him most of the time. It would obviously have an impact on the game but I don't think they'd have "little chance".

Anyone know how long a hyperextended elbow takes to heal? I'm guessing he is at least not 100% during the game if not out of it. I'll worry about it when we hear from the team.

Yeah, I do agree with this. I will say that I don't think there's any doubt it opens it up for Brady to attack that side of the field with LaFell or Edelman if the Pats are indeed in the SB.
