#1 WR Caleb Jones, who broke another Longhorn's jaw, is transferring. He had been suspended for the opener. The father says he needs a new start.

#2 The Lady Longhorn defending NCs have got a commit for the 2016 Class. Yep, she's a HS Freshman. She's from SA Churchill and is 6'1". The height makes it obvious why UT wanted and make me wonder how tall she will get. No word on if the basketball team is looking at her.

It's kinda old news as it happened in March. He sucker punched a tennis player. You gotta know he got teased afterwards. "Dude, you had to sucker punch a tennis player?"

Jason Hall, Safety from Grand Prairie, committed to Texas during the first ever Texas Stampede. He's the 22nd verbal for the 2014 class and the first DB commit from the state of Texas.

2015 OL Patrick Vahe committed on Sunday. He's a cousin of the Teuhema brothers. This probably completes the 2015 oLine class as we have 4 commits.
This brings the 2015 class up to 8.

Teuhema is the #11 ranked prospect in 2015 class in the nation and Vahe is ~78. Very good haul. 2015 recruiting has been very good. I think you can tip your hat to the influence of Suddes. Given how 2014 is going, I really wish Texas hired Suddes a yr earlier.

I think 2014 recruiting is below expectations, because Mack hadn't been recruiting underclassmen, while others were. Another factor is the 2014 recruits realizing they would have to wait to start for Texas.

Not sure I buy that. It is not like Texas is more set than Bama. I do buy that Mack was slow to recognize the shift in recruiting to younger kids.

Alabama has more turnover, Sabah signs 25 every season. It doesn't hurt that he can say, come to Baja, you'll win a NC and be believable. It's similar with Kentucky and basketball recruiting.

I was hoping Brewer would stay - just so it would make it more likely Swoopes would redshirt. Swoopes is the future - but not for this year and maybe not next year (depending on Heard obviously as well).

Makes no sense for Swoopes to waste an entire year of eligibility just for minimal time as the 3rd string qb.

I'd rather have Swoopes get playing time this year. Too many questions about him that I'd like to have answered before potentially handing the keys over to him. That's just me though.

In other news, UT sports has dropped Time Warner Cable and is now using Grande Communication, which carries the LHN.

It's really surprising that TWC won't even buy into the LHN for the Austin area. The market is there. Living in OK. isolates me, but there's an incredible number of Austin residents wearing UT apparel. I believe the LHN would increase subscribers in the Austin area. TWC really appears to be playing hard ball for an unknown purpose.

Yeah, I'm here in Austin, and TWC sucks for not picking up LHN. I don't believe they will now until the Horns are big time again, and the interest rises back to the almost manic level of 2005/6. I've switched cable providers so many times over the past 10-12 years, have held off dumping TWC for LHN as I just assumed they would make a deal. Really pisses me off...

On a positive note, it's almost time for some football! Hook'em! At least I can go to the games, got my tickets and TWC/LHN are not gonna keep me from seeing the OleMiss game.

The times are a'changing, Mack took a commitment for the 2016 class. Some write that he may be the top WR in the nation for that class, I'll play the wait and see. He's Reggie Hemphill, 6'1" 175# and growing. He's from Alvin Texas Manvel.
