Hired a few weeks after Quinn was hired in Jan. 2016, Matt Harriss is gone.
“According to his bio on the team’s official site, Harriss oversaw all aspects of the football side of the business, including player contract negotiations, management of the salary cap and overall compliance with the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement,” Rogers reported. “Additionally, Harriss worked on the long-term planning of the team’s finances related to roster construction, as well as future year projections. Harriss worked closely with various departments, regarding operating budgets and overall compliance.”
Report: Lions move on from salary cap specialist Matt Harriss
Harris was hired away from the Giants shortly after Ernie Accorsi finished advising Martha regarding GM's. He was probably a Martha/Wood hire rather than a Quinn hire. Not sure who or what caused the trigger to be pulled on his dismissal.
