Let me tell ya’ll a little story… I went to FSU during our football heyday. In 1992 we had a QB named Charlie Ward, maybe ya heard of him? He was wildly inconsistent and the offense would struggle early in games and in the 4th quarter we would start a wild comeback and, more iften than not, win.

Some genius on Bobby Bowden’s staff said, “Huh, Charlie seems WAY more comfortable in our 2 minute offense out of the shotgun…

…What if we just ran that offense the entire game?”

The “fast break” offense was born and Ward went on the next year and a half, leading one of the most prolific offenses ever up to that time.

Not saying we need to completely mimic this, but there is a point and philosophy there that we could maybe look at? If Caleb runs the offense better with his hair on fire, perhaps set his hair on fire in the first quarter?

Just sayin.
My kid just got accepted at FSU. We checked out the campus last week. Pretty cool.

They had nothing to play for. I think they did the right thing. Stay healthy.

This game sucked ftr. Losing to the Packers will suck worse. Let’s not do that.

Ok, not happy at all with the final outcome, but at least we showed some life in the 4th Q. Granted, that won't come close to getting it done in the playoffs, but it is something to take away as we prepare to face the rested Packers next week. Colston Loveland is a star in the making. Get ready for a huge year from him next season.

I wish I had a dollar for every time this year I saw a receiver running across the field after making a catch with a Bear defender trying his best to keep up with him and losing ground with every step. The Defensive side of the ball needs a complete overhaul.

Exactly. I'm actually amazed that we held them to just 19 points. It felt like they scored 30 on us.

That’s awesome! The campus was great when I was there (From the parts I remember :D ) and they have done so much to modernize. Haven’t personally been back in over 20 years, but need to at some point. Congratulations to your offspring!

I’d like to personally thank Nick Sirianni for single-handedly handing us the 2 seed. Between benching starters this weekend and the bizarre go for 2 call that sucked the wind out of his team when they played us, he really did us some solid coaching work to benefit our 2025 Chicago Bears.

Yeah, I honestly didn’t understand Philly’s decision to basically abdicate the #2 seed to us.

Whatever, if we don’t play better than today it won’t matter….

Guys, this team isn’t good. Unless we beef up the DLine, we won’t be good. This feels like Nagy in reverse. Instead of the first 20 plays being on point, it’s the last 20 plays. At least Nagy had a game wrecker in Mack. We got nothing on defense right now.

I agree with our D being bad, which is why I'm hoping Poles uses at least his top 3 picks, maybe even top 4 all on defense. But watching this game today it seemed Dennis Allen planned it to avoid getting burned deep, but it resulted in the Lions pass catchers racking up major yardage after the catch. So yes, our D in general needs to be improved, but we also need to play tighter.

A lot of shitting on our defense happening but ffs we didn’t score until the 4th quarter. Both sides are really inconsistent imo.

True. All they did was expose their lack of depth. No surprise. I’m about 95% sure Chicago will get past the wild card next weekend. Not even trying to jinx it. My confidence level is hovering between 0 and 0.

Our secondary was exposed today. CJ was abused by St. Brown. Jaylon looks fat and slow. Was beaten like a drum on those short crossing routes all day. Did Tyrique even play today? This D is a problem. The front 4 just isn't consistent enough. I know they bent, but didn't break, but it looked bad, and in the playoffs? Yikes.

The slow offensive starts are still an issue, but goddamn, it seems they prefer it that way. That's not a great plan for the playoffs either,, unfortunately.

I have to give a fuckload of credit to Kmet today. Loveland is the star, even outplaying him today by a lot, but that 2 point was tough af, and he had a couple other TOUGH plays. Loveland is incredible tho. Total star to-be...Burden as well. Burden makes WR screens seem like good play calls.

With all that said, what an incredible season. Feels unreal when put up against last year, with a mostly similar roster. Fun year.

I have to say in most my seasons, had it come to this, a sudden death game against GB, I would've been instant doom and gloom. Just outright done. Just an expectation of disappointment. It feels different this year.

I relish the opportunity to see the Bears fucking destroy the Packers and their fans' season.

LET'S FUCKING GO!

Yeah, a little too much crapping on our defense here IMO. Seems like the strategy today was, “We’re gonna bring pressure every play and get our hands up and either we knock the ball down or give ip a chunk play!”.

What was clear is we definitely have holes. CJ left too often on St Brown and TJ Edwards left to chase Gibbs around out of the backfield were woefully insufficient. But those two aren’t easy to guard. CJ I totally didn’t get. Coverage is NOT his strong suit.

Anyway. That is what I saw that was glaring. I don’t pretend to know how to fix it. However, if we want a measure of this team’s improvement, we didn’t get destroyed while giving up over 50 points this time?

And last thing… EVERY team in the playoffs has some fleas. Maybe less than we do in some cases, but anything can happen.

We’re in the playoffs and ahead of schedule.
