Shurmer is suggesting this is something that would happen. I don't see it happening - and I don't see how it makes any sense. Some novelty plays - yes I see that, but not a a staple in the run game.

1) The Broncos aren't going to pay Gordon $8 million and use him as a FB. It doesn't make sense for Lindsay to block for Gordon - either - instead of a TE or Hback.

2) If they aren't going to run off the two back formation - are they going to take out a TE or WR to use both backs in the passing game?

3) Better pass protection for a downfield pass? No - not there either as an Hback and do that better in the backfield.

4) It's not going to change the defensive call if both RBs remain in and the surprise is merely who Lock hands the ball to.

One way I do see it working would be if Lindsay or Gordon motioned into the slot position out the backfield for a particular matchup advantage.

Maybe this is what he had in mind?

Crazy to think of a RB combo of Gordon and Lindsay on one better on paper in NFL is probably Cleveland with Chubb and Hunt.

QB excluded -- this Bronco's offense may have more raw talent that any other one in the history of the franchise.

And it’s still going to be dependent on the OTs. I think the interior of the OL will be much better than average.

Lock played with a crappy oline last year and his ability to avoid sacks was phenomenal for a rookie. Huge huge pass pro improvement if James plays 16 games.

Just beat the Chiefs twice and I'll be the biggest Bronco fan on the East Coast.

BTW: Welcome to the Cam Newton era!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.....................................

IF BB can be as successful with Cam as he was with Moss and Dillon, it will b $7.5M well spent and Cam will sign somewhere else in 2021 and the Patriots will get a third round compensatory pick. And Cam might be the guy who can push the Patriots deep into the playoffs. If the Democrats don't get the NFL on a guilt trip and cancel the season.

I think if Cam buys into BB he will do just fine, as long as he puts ego aside. 7.5 mm for a starting qb pay is peanuts today

Is Cam short for Camera? Maybe BB thinks he's getting a twofer.

He's 27th on the QB salary list if he gets the full $7.5M

Lock tosses to Gordon on the sweep - Gordon stops throws back across the field to Lindsay for 60 yards and TD (Lock makes a key block).

I'll call this play - Touchdown Special.

I trust John Elway reads this forum for inspiration.

Two back, two te set. Play action and pass to TE's or RB's that should have db's covering them. I can see this happening a lot.

The only issue I see with that is it leaves us with 1 WR on the field and I don’t like having to choose between having just Sutton, Jeudy, or Hamler available.

In general I'd agree. But when we have an obvious running situation, goal line, etc., the formation I mentioned forces the defense to at best imo play a base defense, forcing coverage mismatches.

Was just going to post this. In certain situations it really does make a lot of sense.

Obviously, something you wouldn't do on 1st and 2nd and long situations.

My observation is there seems to be just the right balance in the urge for Gordon and Lindsay to compete with each other. That could be a great situation.

Last season Lock was nicknamed by the teammates as Flash Gordon. Lindsay could be Flash to Gordon's work load.
