Eric Lindros has launched a $3 million defamation lawsuit against one-time NHL referee Paul Stewart and the Huffington Post, after Stewart wrote a column for the online news website that allegedly made the former Philadelphia Flyers star forward look like a "dickhead."

I don't know the laws on this in Canada, though I'm assuming they're similar at least to the US. The much higher threshold for public figures will be hard to overcome here though, methinks.

You'd be surprised at how often that actually happens.


I think this is all guerrilla marketing to get Lindros' name back in the spotlight. I bet he's gearing up for Celebrity Apprentice, or dancing with the stars or (I hope) that celebrity figure skating thing.
