The Bengals might say publicly they weren't happy with Burfict and his spat with Jackson, but privately I was told they didn't really care

In fact, they liked it.

False. It has nothing to do with aggressiveness. He was being an undisciplined moron. You know, the kind of stupid shit that draws 15 yard penalties and loses games.

I didn't see it, but Burfict said Jackson was running with his head down. Under the new rules, Jackson would get the penalty.

Lets be accurate in the reporting of the story and Burfict was NOT a moron....You get hit with an elbow going down and get called a Bitch I bet you wont walk away....he responded as many of us would if we are making a tackle get hit with an elbow and called a name... people bitch about wanting an attitude on defense then we add some attitude and now our players are Morons???? Make up your decision people who have a problem with it... Im glad as hell that Harrison and Burfict is on the team...as Marv stated...."he is a born leader" talking about Burfict..... Do you wan t Rey M, Caleb Miller, Landon Johnson, Dhani Jones or do you want guys like Burfict and Harrison??????????? I choose the Tez and James

But you have to learn to always keep your cool. No one wants a 15 yard penalty. If you practice doing stuff that will hurt the team in the regular season, then you are not going to be able to keep your cool in the games, either.

I think Marvin chided him because of that A, and B because he "had to", in a sense.

The other issue is health. Marvin (or any coach) doesn't want guys doing stupid shit during training camp. It's a fine line between getting ready for the season and getting yourself hurt.

It has nothing to do with penalties. It's training camp. Practicing with another team. Don't act like an idiot. Burfict acted like an idiot.

I agree with Jwil here.

Steven Jackson RAN OVER Burfict leading with his helmet down, and with an elbow. When Burfict still made the tackle, Jackson got up in his face and called him a bitch. Jackson started the whole thing, and this is just a practice. You do not let another player disrespect you in a practice like that with out firing back a little bit. Jackson is damn lucky Burfict didn't knock him the F out. If this behavior continues in the regular season where he is getting tagged constantly, then it is time for a talk, because he has a target on his back.

You do not want to take the passion, the fire out of Burfict. You don't want him turning into a real pussy like Maualuga. Maualuga has no fire, no drive. Burfict sees red and charges full speed ahead. Harrison is the same way. No one is goign to throw or run towards Harrison and Burfict if they can just go after a soft ass Muauluga. Part of football is intimidation. Making that offensive player double think himself, one slight studder step because the LB is in his head.

Lawrence Taylor used to scare the shit out of some guys so badly that if he even got near them they would just fall on the ground hoping not to get creamed and be satisfied with what he got. Lawrence Taylor made some QB's and centers forget snap counts because he was talking to them so much and getting in their head.

Big difference between passion/attitude and stupidity. What Burfict did was the latter of the two. No arguments here. No matter what Jackson did, you don't jump back on someone/or get physical...that is how you get penalties and fines. You get back up, and the next time you get a chance, you deal with them at that point. The offense clearly gets enough penalty flags...we dont need any extra on the defense.
