With the roster as stripped down as it is currently, Bronny could be the 3rd PG and in the rotation this year. Whether or not his small contract is guaranteed isn't much of a deterrence if they want to move on from him anyway.

But in fairness to LeBron, his free agency was the major story line in the NBA for 2 years before he announced it. All the big market teams were positioning themselves to make a play when he became available and it was a constant talking point for NBA writers and TV people.

I would be willing to bet the televised part wasn’t his idea.

To be fair, I don't think anyone did. I know I didn't. I was hoping he'd go back to the Cavs and I figured Cavs fans would be upset, boo him when the Heat played the Cavs etc.
