wouldn't normally start a thread for a game like this, but there have been a couple of interesting things so far.


Dion Phaneuf CRUSHED Jiri Tlusty with an open ice hit. Pierre would have wet his pants if he was calling that game.

Kulemin went into a scrum and threw a couple of gloved punches at Tim Gleason. Gleason responded.... and how....
poor dizzy Kulemin hasn't returned to the game.

I saw the highlites on Versus during intermission. Gleason destroyed Kulemin with one punch. I agree with the talking heads on Versus, good for Gleason, Kulemin bit off more than he could chew.

Couldn't listen, no sound, only seeing video... so no freakin' idea why.
Timmy K.O'ed him for sure.
But how do you get the gate after destroying a guy who already punched you?

Anybody that heard the reasoning, please let me know.

Not sure what the refs said about that, but I know the Versus guys were in agreement with you, that it was just a fight and both guys should have received 5 min fighting majors and that's it.

And for the second game in a row at the RBC, Cole takes a boneheaded, WTF are you thinking random offensive zone interference penalty.

He's had a great year, but those two penalties are headscratchers.

they only gave Kulemin 2 minutes for roughing. So in the eyes of the refs, Gleason was the only one fighting (instead of just the only one fighting well!).
It was flat out the wrong call. Kulemin threw two punches before Gleason got busy. Just because the gloves were on, doesn't give him a free pass. Kulemin asked for it, and got it.
