Are there any players in the Draft that you secretly want the Lions to Draft in round 5 or later? For me, It's Anthony Barr's teammate, LB Jordan Zumwalt. That guy definitely has some attitude on the field. Anyways, who's on your radar?

I hope other teams don't get wind of it. They may try and trade ahead of us in round five and grab him.

TE Colt Lyerla probably a 2nd or 3rd rounder without his off the numerous off/on the field issues.

Jeff Janis in the 5th or 6th... Hometown kid from Tawas,MI. That is the extent of my homerism.

Telvin Smith OLB/S from FL ST... kid is a baller. 6'3" 218 so he is tweener. Great cover skills and sure tackler. Kid also brings the hammer for small guy. He will either gain weight or lose and play S.

I like Smith as well. Would like to bring him in as a safety though. Would add to ST strength as well. Not sure he has to lose any weight to play safety though.

Bloomsburg DE Larry Webster... His "measurables alone" are nearly identical to Clowney. May have to grab him on one of the 4th rd comp picks, seems as though we don't have a 5th round pick this year (Mike Thomas-Jags) and I'm not so sure he'd last until our 6th rd pick. He will need to be coached up a lot but Washburn fared well last year with Ziggy ("only two years of FB" 13 games, 9 starts) and Taylor. He will need to gain weight, strength to play DE or he may become that flame-thrower edge rusher, IDK.

I'm going with Dennard Robinson....I think the Lions will have to move up to the 3rd round to get him from Jacksonville.....He's that fast!

I like Webster as well. We have 3 4ths so I don't think it will be a problem unless a team falls in love with him. We might want to grab a QB like Murray in that round as well. Same thing though. A team might overdraft and take him earlier as well.

Murray will be steal for someone. I do not feel he is the most talented QB. He may be the most NFL ready though. Four year guy in pro style offense. He reminds me a guy from yester year when a QB sat 2-3 years and stepped in with out the lumps of a first year starter. Kinda like another Aaron...Rodgers.

Matt Hazel, wideout, Coastal Carolina. Aaron Colvin, Corner/safety, Oklahoma. He's coming off a torn ACL, Mayhew loves that shit.

William & Mary FS Jerome Couplin lll

Watch the first 4 minutes of this you-tube video at least. A sleeper for a late 4th rd comp pick or 6th rd ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0egYkKQ0RDk

The Lions reportedly worked him out according to the link below.
Here Comes The Next NFL Superhero - Forbes

At his Pro Day on March 18, Couplin ran the 40 yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He also had a vertical of 41.5 inches and a standing broad jump of 11 feet 2 inches, all accomplished outside in rainy, 32 degree conditions. But it’s when the ball is in the air that Couplin earns his nickname. Much like the “Osprey,” Couplin has an 81 inch wingspan, which means that he can practically touch his knees when standing straight up. Coupled with his jumping ability, Couplin’s physical attributes are a defensive coordinator’s dream. To put it into perspective, Couplin can catch a football 13 feet in the air (the top of a basketball backboard), or dive for a football a car length away. His Pro day results in the 40 yard dash, three cone drill, and bench press numbers tied or beat the projected top two safeties in this year’s draft (Alabama’s Ha‘Sean “Ha-Ha” Clinton Dix and Louisville’s Calvin Pryor ). Couplin’s results in the standing broad jump are the best for a safety in the last 10 years at the combine and his vertical would have been first among safeties at this year’s combine.

Scouts from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Redskins were all in attendance for his Pro Day and have had communication with him as well. As a result of his measurables, Couplin is now on the radar of other of NFL teams. The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals have shown interest and he has had workouts with the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, and Baltimore Ravens.

I'm sold after reading this and then watching the first two highlights on his you tube video. 81 inch wing span is ridiculous for a guy that is 6'1".
