Last night showed me that we simply cannot hang with the big dogs!! Receivers and tight ends were running open on us, maybe it’s time to admit that we made a mistake in trading for Marshon Lattimore he was getting cooked last night as was Mikey S and Will Harris..where were the designed runs like last year? This offense looks like they needed reps in the preseason, why didn’t we give Conerly any help? If he’s struggling then put in Wylie it’s that simple..I’m sorry but Austin Eckler simply shouldn’t have been the main RB used. This team has a ton of work to do cause after what happened last night Brock Bowers is going to kill the defense especially if we don’t get our shit together on defense

Let’s be honest and real the offensive play calling was atrocious last night Kliff Kingsbury better get his shit together..why are we always in shotgun on 3rd and 1? Why not try a QB sneak or something isn’t that what most teams do. I didn’t like the defensive play calling either just rushing 4 simply isn’t going to cut it bring more pressure, it shouldn’t take 3 damn quarters for Joe Whitt to figure that out

I get it but in not panicking. IF we lose to the Raiders then we can hit the panic button.

Last night was just one game. GB has been incredible on defense so far this season. Detroit didn’t block them and we didn’t block them.

Offensively, KK called a shit game. Why he kept running Ekelar is a huge question for me. Jayden was off too and didn’t look right.

Whitt called a terrible first half. You can’t play Lattimore off of people. He is a press corner. Mikey can’t allow the WR inside on that TD. Amos was a bright spot again.

So we know Eckler is a season ending injury and most likely Deatrich Wise..only question is who do we replace then with?

The Dline is improved in run stopping but can't get any pressure with just 4 and I don't know about anyone else but the secondary looked slow

Here are my best things coming out of that game last night.

1. From a team perspective, hopefully AP, DQ, and Co. will finally realize that the WR room is poorly stocked. If they are counting on a youth movement to improve the lot, not one of them did enough to supplant McLaurin as their WR1, so their value falls into more of the same, that is, a bunch of WR2s. (McLaurin, Brown, Lane) WR3s (McCaffrey) and an all-purpose player in Deebo.

2. More from the team perspective; I believe that it was a good thing for the offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, in that he gave up on the run early on, and as predicted in another thread, put more on Daniels' plate than necessary. (Thread: Do over plus one)

3. Individually, both Conerly and Daniels were top beneficiaries from the game. While the Packers did a number on them, outside of Philadelphia, neither is likely to see a defense in the case of Daniels nor a talent (Parsons on Conerly) again this year. Ok, lessons learned.

4. We finally got to see Sinnott under fire and getting extended play; this will continue if Bates' groin lingers, albeit more in a blocking role than receiving.

Wait, others around here claim N. Brown is a legit #2. I had to say it, sorry. Not sure why KK panicked and aborted the run as Bill was doing just fine. Still got the game within 7 and still he chose to throw it all around.

As for the defense, look, the Pack are better than the Giants by far but adjustments were not being made until too late. We were man handled up front (No real splash from Kinlaw, Payne, Newton, Goldman) and guys were running wide open in the secondary. At some point JW, jr has to be held accountable. If we don't have the right personnel to function in this defense, then that is on AP & Co.

While I'm disappointed we looked absolutely abysmal last night, it is only 1 game. Let's see how they responsd on 10 days rest, film study and what kind of energy they bring into week 3. Our roster is what it is so no real help incoming. The team just needs to coach better and play better than whatever that was last night.

Amazing post as always!

To piggy back off of what you said:

We need to focus on skill positions next offseason via the draft and FA. We need to resign Deebo and draft a stud WR...maybe with that 1st rounder. I don't know.

Seems like the rush was ok...but we need more than just an "ok" pass rush.

CB play was poor and I blame Lattimore. The trade looks like a bust.

In summary: Those 3 areas (WR, Edge, and CB can and MUST be addressed via free agency or through the draft). I believe the year 3 offseason will be critical as we must have the core together before paying JD5. He must have a support cast in place.

Exactly! Those 3 spots have to be filled with top end AND young talents. As you've correctly pointed out that core when it's time to pay Daniels has to be in place, young talented and themselves on rookie deals.

As for Lattimore, I don't see him as a bust, he's primarily a man cover type being asked to play outside of his strength., but his struggles aren't just because of that, but directly tied to an below average pass rush. Green Bay is very good but I don't believe anyone thinks their defensive backfield is as good as they have been in these first two games without that pass rush.

"Last night showed me that"
Should be a recurring thread, just sounds like a catchy discussion thread lol.
For me, i learned i greatly underestimated how focused GB is, they are coming out ready to play....but, they will be figured out at some point too.
I learned we still need a kicker, i learned the coaching staff will not help a player that is struggling on either side of the ball. It appears the team thought Ekler was still Chargers Ekler, and he was getting rocked even before the injury. I think as some have said, lets not overreact to one beatdown...let's see how we do against Vegas. Amos looks amazing in 2 games.

What I learned today.

The Skins have the NFL's oldest starting roster with an average age of 27.13 for its starting offense, defense n SP.

277 days older than the next oldest starters, the Steelers.

We need to focus on skill positions next offseason

Just going off the GB game. Skill players can't be very effective with an OL that has issues with A) protecting the QB or B) a DL that has trouble putting pressure on the opposing QB or C) a coaching staff that waits too long to make adjustments.

Not sure I agree with @skinz2winz position that the Skins went 1 dimensional too soon.

As soon as the Skins cut the lead to 7. On their very next drive the Pack pushed it right back to 14 again.

And that was pretty depressing. Because as opposed to the Skins TD inspiring the Skins defense. It motivated the Pack offense as if the Pack was saying. You cats aren't in our league.
