Now here is a legit stud guard we could use. Not sure what it would take or if we could afford him but this would be a great pickup in a much needed position.

Salary cap appears to be the main culprit. Cutting him clears the Saints $7.75 mil.

First of all, I wouldn’t trust any rumors about interest or lack their of. Secondly, if it is right, it’s probably a cap issue. You bring him in and you have a log jam at guard without a real quality tackle on the roster.

It’s most definitely a cap issue. 25 million plus tied into Foles/Burton/Graham and Arob still has to be extended. FFS we still get hit for like 1.5 million this year for Parkey. Mistakes add up and cost teams. This is one of those costs.

Niners had one of those close-but-no-cigar seasons last year. I can definitely see why they are all in trying to improve their team as much as possible.
