Loving it. Now I'm even more excited for the show. I knew Mayer could play, but had no idea he could PLAY.

After watching some of those Mayer videos yesterday, I'm thinking about convincing the wife that this is a necessary show to see. Mayer looks like he has the chops to do this well. It will be interesting to see his progression throughout the tour. It's one thing to learn the songs. It's another thing jamming out one song after another. Trey was used to long improvisational jams. The Forum shows wrap up the tour, so Mayer should be on point by then.

Are you going to catch them at the Forum @chappee11?

This was great. The vocals have never sounded so good! I started streaming this at work and finished it in the car. Great set. I'm seeing the Dead & Co show on the 30th @ the Forum. Then I'll stream the Phish show on NYE with my daughter. She's 4.5, but basically knows the Phish and Dead catalogues. Love those East Coast start times so she can watch most of it.

He's definitely an underrated guitarist, probably one of the best out there today. I think he gets overlooked because some of his stuff skews more soft rock/alt so people don't really know he's a guy that can shred with the very best of them.

This describes me, for sure. I basically only know the "Georgia Why" song from him as a solo artist. It's a good tune, too, but it's soft and doesn't showcase his real skills. I thought he was just a hipster dude that hung out with Taylor Swift. The pairing with the Dead had me puzzled to say the least. But now I am getting it. I knew he had a great voice, but the guitar skills caught me off-guard. I'm sold!

Exactly. I think you have to go!! Tickets are still reasonably priced now, too. I got some on Stubhub pretty close to face value. I bet the prices will go up pretty soon. And they will be on fire at the end of the tour, for sure. It's going to be a huge party.

Remember way back when this thread was about Lamar Odom? LOL

John Mayer is helping his recovery?

Seriously though I'm glad Odom is breathing on his own. Hopefully he comes back from this and turns it around.

Gotta lighten the mood after it was pretty dark for awhile. Thankfully, Odom seems to be pulling out of it.
Hopefully this is a lesson that turns it around for him and brings positive results. I personally don't want to see his children without a father. No child deserves that

But he's a bad guy according to some

Dude, he went to a whorehouse in vegas to get away and went on a cocaine/viagra/hooker bender. The only reason we know about him is because he can play basketball. I hope he pulls through, but if he didn't have ungodly basketball skills this wouldn't be a blip on the radar. It would just be "pull up the meat wagon at the brothel" time.
