I think most people agree with that.

The real question is- will they be a legit playoff team- as in a 4, 5 or 6 seed, or will they struggle to get a 7 or 8?

I hope the Lakers miss the playoffs.

Yeah I think it kind of sucks for the Lakers that the Pelicans took the Rockets to the woodshed.

You know Houston is going to be locked in looking to show something after that game.
Houston has some of their own issues integrating a few new guys to the rotation- and their depth isnt that great.

Houston is not gonna want to start 0-2 though. Capela will be an interesting player to watch in that game if you ask me. If the Lakers can keep him relatively off the glass and hit over 30% of their 3s they will have a good chance to win.

with their early season schedule they could easily start 1-4 if things dont go their way.

Gets a little easier after that though towards mid-November.

they gotta play Cedi at some point though ;)

Yeah I noticed their schedule starts a bit rough and then gets actually mediocre for awhile.

This will probably lead to swings of overreacting both ways.

yah.

They go:

Portland
Houston
SAS
Phoenix
Denver
SAS

say they split with SAS, and beat Phoenix- and split the Denver/Houston.....that leaves them at 3-3. I will PROBABLY guess they will be 2-4 after the first 6 games, but it could easily be 3-3.

After that they go:

Minne
Dallas
Portland
Toronto
Minne
Sac
Atl
Portland
Orlando

thats a pretty easy stretch. Minne is in dsyfunction. Dallas isnt very good. Portland and Toronto are good, SAC, ATL, Orlando suck.

Id guess after their first 15 games they will be about 8-7 considering they get Minne twice, Orlando, SAC, ATL, DAL.

The problems will come if they lose more than a game or two to teams they "should" beat.

Curious to see what they do with Zo in the summer if there isn't significant improvement this year.

I expect they'll try to move him if there isn't. Magic told all of the kids after last season that this off-season would be the most important of their lives. I'd expect that any of them that don't show improvement, will be gone.

Lonzo looks bigger and stronger than last year, the court vision still looks good and his shot looks a little cleaner. But if the shot still isn't going in, it's going to matter how clean it looks.
