Per La Kings insider (staff blogger) two days ago.
Incidentally, something I neglected to mention in the previous post is that according to a team source, the Kings no longer consider themselves in the market for Philadelphia’s Simon Gagne. So everything is right…back…to…square one.

Of course he also said the Kings were no longer going after Kovy either so...

I would hate to lose Simmonds and his ability and low cost for a one year player. If the Kings sign Kovy they should be looking to shed cap and not add to it.

The Kings are a fickle bunch right now. Give us Kovy, Kings say no to Kovy, give us Gagne, No to Gagne.
It is like an 5 year old. I want that toy. Well you can't have it. Well I really didn't want it anyway. Well you can have it if you want. Ok, Kidding.

I think the Kings would like to make deals without losing roster players. They have a lot of good kids in the minors, but most need to stay there for another year. If they give up too many NHL guys they may not have a team.
