OP is an moron. Doesn’t root for the best team in his state. Could root for a blue blood and perineal conference champion and school that’s won several national championships. Instead chooses to root for a mediocre football team with zero championships and will most likely go on average 8-4 every year.

Am I doing this right?

Isn't Kyler about the same height as Saban?
Which makes me wonder about his baseball days...minor league Braves team here...and those dudes are huge. I like to watch the bullpen. :pop2:

Yes and ignoring the chances of even making it to the show let alone earning a big second baseball contract is so minute it’s insane is pretty dumb. It’s very likely the last big money he ever makes playing baseball is his signing bonus. If he ends up a top 15 pick it’s very likely he will triple that at least in the NFL.

78% of top 10 picks between 2000 and 2016 made it the majors. Obviously that isn't 100% like it is in the NFL, but the odds are in his favor. Even if he's a first rounder, there's a 50/50 chance he'll be a bust based on the odds. Lamar Jackson got a 4.9 million signing bonus and he was the last pick in the first round. I don't think it's likely Murray is selected late until the late 1st/early 2nd(and that might be generous).

He can be medicore at baseball(in the majors) and still make more than he can if he was mediocre in the NFL.

Does he want to be successful or one of the best at what he does for a living (and possibly get just as much money or more) or just make a lot of money and be okay?

This could actually go the total opposite way though:

Gets his signing bonus and contract. Makes it out of the minors a couple times but it never works out. Still makes a good chunk of $10-20M over 4-5 years.
OR
Gets a chance at becoming a starting QB and succeeds, gets huge contract. QB's are the highest paid position in the NFL by far, that is different than being a WR, even one of the best WR's. He could get $12-18M a year being a decent to serviceable QB, Keenum got $18M a year.

It all depends on what he thinks he'll be better at. There's more money to be paid for being good in mlb than the NFL.

Differences between the two.

A. Deion sucked at baseball. Murray is already a better pro ball player than Deion was.
B. QB’s make a hell of a lot more money than Deion did.

The better analogy would be to Bo Jackson except reverse. Try football and if he isn’t good enough go back to baseball where you can get paid in the minors until you’re damn near 40 in AAA.
If he can make it to the majors even as a mediocre starting pitcher then he could see a 100 million dollar career. Obviously getting there is a crapshoot.

interesting info but I would say that Calvin Johnson could have earned double that if he would have stayed in the league and not cut himself short its not like CJ made that over a full career

True. But he was probably tired of getting the shit beat out of him. He still put a decade in.

you can always go back to baseball later in life, you can't go back to football later in life.

Sure there are risks for entering the NFL before the MLB, but I see what Murray is doing. If you want to play football now, play football now. You don't want to look back 10 years from now and for the rest of your life regret not playing a game you currently love playing.

Most likely for Murray baseball will always be there for him. Football is a much smaller window and go take advantage of that time while you still have it.

Well his height could be a problem, but not as much as in the past. I would say going on past history. He had a pretty damn good season at Oklahoma last year in baseball but there are already issues and hasn't even hit the minors yet. The NFL is a different beast but it's a good start, he did win the Heisman. He can run but he is also an underrated passer imo.

I am happy to take that bet

I have no clue how tall he actually is — anyone who isn’t 6’3”, 6’4” look like midgets around the giants on the OL and DL.

He could be 5’5” for all I know. I just said whathe was listed at when I looked.

I don’t know the exact height, but I have seen him in person. I would say he is closer to 5’6” than 6’

If Murray goes number one the last two top picks will be midget OU QBs.

I’d guess he had his height and weight taken before the MLB draft. The shortest they’ve had him online is 5’10”.

I guess we will see at the combine. I honestly have no idea though. I just know he looks really quick when he decides to run

NO way he's the #1 overall pick. I don't even think he's the first QB taken. He's a great college QB, but not so sure that means he is going to be a great NFL QB.

He is the perfect player for Kliffs system. If he doesn't like what he sees in Rosen(who doesn't fit his system) then he has trade value there. Crazy that OU could have back to back Heismans and back to back #1 picks.
