, and he doesn't have to pay back all of his signing bonus from the A's....I don't get it.
A's also do not get a pick to replace him since he actually signed with then before changing sports.

Kid has balls I will give him that.. And at least he will learn pretty quick whether he can do it or not.

I don't think he can but it's cool he is willing to prove all the doubters wrong.

The next two star prospect won't be give the chance to play one more season of football.

The A's got burned by letting Murray play. I would not be surprised if MLB gives them a compensation pick.

If I am an NFL team I would be concerned about drafting him. He can just as easily go back to MLB.

Good point, I guess he could switch again if he isn't happy with who drafts him in the NFL and what they offer him.
I guess he gets to keep a bit of his signing bonus because the A's still have his baseball rights and they could be of value in the future.

Kyler Murray announced Monday that he's "firmly and fully committing" his life and time to becoming an NFL quarterback moving forward.

In other words, he has decided to focus on the NFL rather than pursue his career in MLB. It's a big disappointment for MLB and the Athletics, but it appeared increasingly likely he was moving in this direction after winning the Heisman Trophy and declaring for the NFL draft. He's expected to be a first-round pick. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, Murray will return $1.29 million of the $1.5 million signing bonus the A’s gave him last year, as well as forfeiting $3.16 million due on March 1. He'll be placed on the restricted list and the A's will retain his rights should he change his mind down the road. However, Oakland will not receive a compensatory pick for losing him. Murrary was selected ninth overall by Oakland in last year's draft
