I'd feel better just adding 1more solid defender who won't be a rental. I think by adding 1more dman would put the writing on the wall that Carle is history. Going back to Burke in Toronto, the man is known for wheeling and dealing. I'm wondering the closer to the deadline the more likely he will settle for less in compensation for the likes of Schenn? He wants to deal. Chances of him getting any of the guys like Getzlaf, Nash, JVR are unlikely. Would he be interested in Briere or Carle and pick?

Do we know if the Flyers are linked with Kubina? I havn't heard any news except that Kubina may be traded.

I really see Grossman being the compliment to Mez. I'd rather see Mez rush and pinch then Carle and Grossman plays similar to O'Donnel and we saw how dominant Mez played with him.

I think if we make another move it will be for a partner for Carle if we don't move him. honestly I'd rather move Carle and bring in Gill or Allen to play with Bourdon/Gusty, or hell bring em both in to play together. Talk about a gritty defense.

i think grossman will play with carle cause i think bourdon will go to the bench.. mesz and gust have been playing together lately so i think it'll stay that way

edit: or maybe grossman will play with gustaffson.. swedish connection? not mesz and carle have played a good bit when they shorten the bench

I say go for him if the price is right. He is an UFA at seasons end if it doesnt work out. Wont be a 1st rounder for him as he could walk anyways.

Kubina would be an awesome pick up. He is just defense minded but at 6'4" 258lbs that's a good thing. That's a front of the net clearer there, lol.
