It's a chilly morning in Columbus. I left my heat off and the window open last night, and now it's cold as hell and I'm wrapped in the blanket and listening to my furnace. It feels like football, and while my Buckeyes are still MIA and Notre Dame apparently infected all of the government with the corona, there is still some good action today to get your football fix.

The noon slate is a bit sleepy. South Carolina looks to rebound against a good looking Florida team. Mizzou gets a shot at Tennessee. The real cracker is probably TCU-Texas, mostly because all B12 games seem to be turning into name your own adventure books. Our 3:30 slate gets Alabama crushing the hopes and dreams of Aggie fans, plus some other stuff if you are so inclined.

The evening headliner is Auburn and Georgia, and both teams looked kind of good and kind of limited in their first game, so it should be fun, if perhaps ugly. The Sooners look to rebound at Iowa State, and Clemson tries to continue to put bodies in the trunks of cars as they roll on Virginia.

No food plans yet today. I may go for some hamburgers - maybe try those smashed skillet hamburgers. That's probably my favorite stile, maybe get some grilled onions, pickle, make up some sort of special sauce, and fry up the buns. Yeah, that's sounding like the plan today. Have some Oktoberfest in the fridge, so we are ready to roll. My children will be bothering me - one wants to go to the mall, while the others will probably want to spend time with me or something. Hope they like football.

TCU has been good but can't stop kicking field goals. Seems ominous

I missed the end transporting my girls around. What happened?

There's no easy way to describe it.

Basically Texas fumbled trying to extend the ball over the goal line. Then trying to run out the clock, TCU QB ran out the end zone for a safety as time ran out.

But the refs called a holding penalty on TCU, then called for one untimed play.

Followed by another ref indicating the game had ended.

We were all left with WUT?
