I just finished it, thought it was pretty interesting albeit sad. Kinda straddles the line between trying to understand what led him down that path and absolving but at the same time the knowledge of all those parts is good warning signs for people who may be in similar situations. Still doesn't change my opinion of him, though.

Struck me more as a lesson for future athletes or just people with the troubles he had.

I thought Episode I last night (1/19) was pretty interesting. How many 14 year olds do you know that are offered a full college scholarship??

Hernandez had at least two different people living inside his head. Probably three or four. Just listening to him talk on the phone from prison made my blood run cold.

The guy is convicted and sentenced to life w/o parole and he's telling his mother that prison is coll. Like training camp. If that doesn't indicate that he had a mental problem.........

I have no sympathy or empathy for the guy. But watching your father bounce your mother's head off the kitchen sink until she was unconscious might say a few things about attitude and DNA.

Yeah I think mentally he was fucked too, no excuse without a doubt and no sympathy for this POS. His anger probably stemming from seeing his mother getting beat and he essentially became his father but 1,000,000x worse, then his mother ended up basically abandoning him. The fact he thought prison was a safe place at times says he was one paranoid guy and his life was a mess, he couldn't take it anymore whether it was the guilt, mental issues, memories, hiding his sexuality, etc.
