During his minute/interview, I was thinking to myself that he would be a deserving GT winner, but he was already in orbit of the show, and Tony typically doesn’t give the tickets to MS employees (or his own employees). But now Bret has a ticket, and he gave a ticket to his producer a year or so ago (forget her name… the little Jewish girl).

I don’t see the point in giving a ticket to people who are already in the orbit.

On a side note, I noticed that a while back they started giving people Literal Golden Tickets. Does anyone know what they are made of and have any showed up on ebay?

The one I am disappointed in is my boy jack shaw. I loved everything about him when he originally got the golden ticket. But now every time he comes on he is cringe worthy bad.

Yeah. Some people just don’t develop. And he has been bad.

Of course, no one has had a more dramatic fall than Heath. But Jack has become rough, and I am losing faith in Tony Scar very quickly. His GT set was AMAZING but he has been garbage ever since.

I seriously doubt they would show up on EBay this soon. That would be career suicide. Eventually they will show up, but not yet.

Tony scar the musical comedian?? I think he is different enough for this show to be good for a while. Nothing has been as good as his original appearance. But nothing has been bad either.

Musical comedy is the most difficult and least rewarding skill for a comedian.

I disagree, re Scar. I have seen, I think, 3 sets of his since his GT set, and they have all been hot garbage.

Opinion, of course. You are allowed to think he has been OK. I am not ready to put him in the Casey Rocket category just yet, but right now, I am very disappointed in him.

no, what I am trying to explain is the genre is very difficult. It’s why you know many comedian musicians. And even if you look up the best ones, if you listen to their songs you won’t find most of them funny. They have some great ones. But most are meh. It’s the genre.

Sclar imo is a future star in that genre. Bo burnham is a realistic level.

He is only 20 years old (or something like that). He absolutely has potential. He has good stage presence. His writing is just really thin right now. But like I said, he is really young. The writing can come. The stage presence is hard to get.

I did like him. But he did not feel like a golden ticket. He felt like someone who gets the big and scheduled for all the normal shows. And that was all.

I’m not complaining though.

It doesn’t cost Tony ANYTHING to give someone a GT. But if he actually gives one to a comic who develops, Tony will have his name attached to the guy forever. And I suspect Tony gets a taste if these guys use the fact they are a GT winner in their media advertising their shows.

I agree. There is no harm in it. And it does change peoples lives. Even the ones that don’t develop.

That’s why I got no problem with him giving them out too on the fence guys.

But maybe there should be a power to take one back from someone who in reality was not that good.

For no reason whatsoever, I disagree. I have “respect” for the GT. They shouldn’t be kept in the candy dish at the front desk. They should be locked away in back and only taken out for special occasions.

On the fence guys still deserve it. They are just not clear cut. I considered the guy who got it this week an on the fence guy.

SOOOO glad they didn’t give him a GT.

AWESOME set and great interview, but Tony really needs to slow down on the GTs. Treat him like Pickles, Lazer or Afrodiaty in that he gets invited minutes, but he doesn’t get the label.
