Per Rotoworld...

"Bears placed WR Kevin White on injured reserve with a severe high-ankle sprain that also resulted in a broken fibula.
After suffering a stress fracture in his shin last year that costed White his entire rookie offseason program and regular season, White is now dealing with another severe lower-leg injury. He'll be out a minimum of eight weeks but very easily could miss the rest of the year. It's a real concern for White's development, as he's already shown to be slow in learning an NFL offense and turns 25 next offseason. In White's absence, Alshon Jeffery will hopefully go back to alpha-dog status as an elite WR1. Cameron Meredith will see the biggest boost in snaps out wide."

I just saw this too... That just simply sucks. Sucks for the Bears and sucks for Kevin White. I saw him making strides and becoming a player. Granted it was only 4 games, but he was gaining confidence and learning the PRO game. It's too bad.

Does this give Alshon Jeffery more leverage for a long term contract? Just a question.

Seems like such a nice kid too. He has all the attributes to be something special, except for luck apparently.

Welcome to the the Bears.:gaah::smash:

Yeah, its hard to imagine he'll ever be the same after two reconstructive leg surgeries in back-to-back years to start his career.

He had just started to come on in the second half of the Dallas game and the Detroit game too. Very unfortunate.

Any chance the Cub's curse moved across town while no one was looking?

I am surprised White walked off the field after that dude fell on and bent his ankle like he did.

Alshon needs to prove he can suit up all year too, before giving him that deal. I am pretty sure the franchise tag price will go down next year without Megatrons mega deal setting the new standard for top 15 receivers. I think Alshon has missed alot of practice.

But if he makes it to Christmas, then might as well give him a deal and knock part of the signing bonus off of the 7 million space we have this year.

I`m all for the Cubs losing that dreaded curse, but sure as in hell don`t wanna see it moved to Soldier Field........

And yeah,i`m the same, was excited when we drafted White and saddened to see it possibly become an end to his career........Two seasons, two injuries to the same leg.........that's not good.

So is it too early to say that turning:

Brandon Marshall, the #7 Overall Pick, and a 7th rounder

into

Kevin White and a 5th rounder

was one of the worst sets of moves in Bears history or do I have to wait a couple of years?

Tough break for everyone. Never got to see White do his thing even once. Never sent him downfield to burn by people. I'm glad Royal is here. Never thought I would feel that way.

Just take it off the Cubs for one year... Then we can move it back... :suds:

You can say it, but that won't make it true.

Marshall is a talented pain in the ass, that may have a couple good years left. Kevin White is far from done. He will be back IMO.

There are some that claim that pick they got for Marshall turned into Amos and made it worthwhile. The Jets also took all the money with Marshall. I would be fine with Marshall with a different QB, but after taking so much punishment for a guy that has a hard time hitting a receiver in the numbers, it was too much for the head case.

No...

BMarsh was gone regardless. Getting ANYTHING for him was a very good move.
