Kevin Love over rated?

Am I the only one who thinks so? The grass isn't always greener folks.

The guy has never played in the post season, he may put up great numbers on a bad team, but Klay and D.Lee put up decent numbers on a good/great team.

Folks want to tout this trade as the "thing that gets us over the hump", but I don't know if that's the case.

Sure Ai#9 could move to the 2, and we could start Green at the 3, but that really leaves our bench exposed. I'll still support the Dubs regardless, but I believe in Klay, he's come a long way and has only scratched the surface of what he can do on the court.

I've watched Kevin Love play in many games as I've mentioned before. I like him as a player, but he does have his issues IMO. Although he has wide shoulders, longer arms and a bigger frame than David Lee, he isn't a long player by any means, measuring out at 6 7 3/4" without sneakers when he came into the league. Consequently I've seen him have problems both guarding taller players in the post, and scoring over them on the low block.

I've also seen Minnesota lose many close games, and it's my subjective opinion that he isn't a great closer. I've read that Minnesota was #1 in the league in points differential in the first quarter, but only 28th in the 4th quarter. If someone has statistics to contradict this, I'll gladly eat my words, but I don't think he's proven himself to be a dominant crunch time player. There are alot of trade scenarios going around, but if the basic trade is Lee/Thompson for Love and filler, I don't think losing two starters to gain one is going to move the win/loss needle.

Another thing to consider with Love is that in his evolution as a player into a stretch four, he now spends alot of time out of the low post on the offensive side of the ball, so he isn't the potent offensive rebounder (tied for 19th best in the league this year) he used to be. In his first two seasons he was either 1 or 2 in this category. I think the Warrior's brass are very conflicted over moving Thompson to acquire him and they should be.

To me, the differential only shows how they weren't that good. Good teams make halftime adjustments (something we never did) and if your not that good you wont win, simple as that. The TWolves overacheived this past season, all because of KLove. He's a top 5 player in the league, top 8 at worst.
