Per ESPN. Says this is his last season. If you get a chance to watch him work, it is very often worth it. Same with some of the other vets that know how to pitch vs just throw.
And even some of those games just felt like bad luck (runners allowed after getting pulled) or just getting BABIP'd after cruisingI think he is underrated bc of his postseason struggles. I think he was one of the most dominant pitchers this game has seen for a long time
Can't say I agree. He's 37 and having a good year. I grew up watching real men who had to be dragged away from the game kicking and screaming. I watched Willie Mays tripping over himself in the World Series with the Mets. Steve Carlton getting bounced around the league and lit up like a Christmas tree for 5 different teams. But Clayton wants to spend more time with his family. These players are so soft these days. Whatever. Go run your foundation or whatever and play catch with your kid. Maybe start a garden club with Zack Wheeler.Enjoy your retirement sir. Well earned!!
The Rivera one was insaneGlad he waited till now to say it.
The full season retirement tours got old.
3 was pretty good in my youth, 2’s were really goodDon't know if it's because of him, but I grew up thinking an ERA above 3 was garbage
60s-early 70s? Or the early 1900s?Don't know if it's because of him, but I grew up thinking an ERA above 3 was garbage

Keep going until you end up being released with a 7.00 ERA pitching for the Twins, then maybe you can say you've "earned" your retirement.
Get off my lawn!
Ws for pitchers are no longer a thing like they were. Not only will we never see a 300 game winner again, I doubt we see a 250 game winner again.I thought he’d have more career W’s.
