I still remember his rookie season like it was yesterday. What a great year for baseball that was. He had a pretty good career overall, should be a Cub's HOF'er.

it's really a shame Prior and Wood couldn't stay healthy. They were both very talented. Hell, Prior probably should have won the CYA in '03.

Wood's always been an underachiever. He's beloved for his loyalty, but he's never been a favorite of mine. He was a nice guy, but he was just never that good.

i'm talking about blaming dusty even though every pitcher cubs fans claim he's "ruined" as come out in defense of him saying it wasnt dustys fault

I wouldn't say Dusty's the reason Prior and Wood fell apart. Wood did have TJS well before Baker became the Cubs manager. Prior had a few unlucky injuries. But he certainly didn't help things.

In 2003, Wood and Prior combined for 22 starts with 120+ pitches. Out of 62 starts. That's a lot. They also had 5 starts with 130+ pitches. '03 was also Prior's 2nd season in the majors, and he had about 100 more IP than in '02 with just 11 more starts.
