Kentucky tears taste like butter.

Our HC started recruiting a kid 3 years ago who turned into the top player in next year's class. We went all in, and even hired his brother*** as an assistant. Kentucky was the runner up and Cal knew it so he signed his (5* 2021 kid who is gonna reclassify) backup option a week earlier. They had top 3 classes for over a decade now so losing a 5* top 3 NBA pick is no biggie because next recruit up. You'd think the fan base would shrug off something like this, but nah they are losing their shit.

Cade Cunningham: I have a theory | CatsIllustrated.com

***nepotism almost certainly got him the job but he's former college player under Larry Brown, been an assistant with multiple D1 programs and has solid AAU ties in North Texas. When I saw that I was like yeah we're that program now, but it's not like he is unqualified. No one bats an eye at the hire if his last name isn't Cunningham.

The NCAA put rules into place where you can’t hire a recruits family member within two years of him graduating high school for this exact reason.
