    Long story short...

12 teams, PPR, bonus points for long TDs, 1/30 return yards, keep 2 offensive players with no draft pick penalties.

I have to declare keepers tomorrow night. Obviously, I will be watching any developments, but if nothing comes out, who should i keep?

Shady - I guess it comes down to how much of a risk taker do I want to be?

Tyreek Hill - Pretty much locked in now.

Derek Henry - I guess he is not the worst back up plan for McCoy.

    Jarvis Landry - Probably not.

I was all set to turn in McCoy and Hill and start prepping for the draft, but then all hell broke loose. My guess is that they will be able to find out something before the season starts and the ramifications (if any) will be handed out before then. Like I said, it's a matter of risk at this point. I guess all I can do is gather information and make the best decision I can. Do you guys think Shady is worth holding onto?

Well, I not much of a risk taker when it comes to the politics of the NFL - and I don't think we'll learn anything definitive on that situation before tomorrow - and probably not for a while now, since both sides have yelped about it enough on social media - the lawyers will put a gag order on them both.
So, I'd say Henry and Hill. If this is a long-term keeper league, you'll likely be better off anyway. ...

Even if Shady is to be suspended, I don't think it happens as of the beginning of the year. It could drag out so you get some benefit no matter. I would keep Shady and Hill.
I am a risk taker and a Shady honk though.

Well, if I keep Shady, then I think Chris Ivory becomes a must-draft for me.

bingo - that's the strategy I'd go with if I was keeping him

personally would go Henry and Hill now that this shit storm is brewing over Shady.
and I am not a Hill fan, but still like him more than Landry.

The potential for a lifetime ban will keep me firmly away from Shady this year, as it could drop at any moment given the news/investigation findings.

The court of public opinion is ready to convict him, and that usually = some kind of suspension from the league.

When's the draft? Don't forget, should something come out of this that puts Shady out for any extended period, D. Murray, Darkwa, and AP are all looking for jobs

As to the keepers, I'm keeping Henry and Hill. As ugly as this could get, I'm not taking the chance that they don't just tell him to stay away from the team and the league. Maybe they'll need more time to suspend him, but they can inactivate him with pay whenever they want

Well if Buff decides to be proactive and keep Shady at home until things are sorted out, I would fully expect a veteran addition in one way shape or form

Man, kinda shitty fer you, but better now than next week. That said, It's gotta be Henry and Hill IMO..........and I'm usually a risk taker but not when you have a pretty good Plan B. Maybe even try to shop Shady to somebody who A) Doesn't have a better keeper and B) Is a risk taker. You might get something out of him (highly doubt it but worth a try).

I agree with fuzzy that it's unlikely McCoy gets suspended this season. These kind of things take a long time to get finished. That being said I would still keep Henry over McCoy, because the Bill offense is so bad that defenses are going to sell out to stop the run be and given McCoys age this could be the year he steps off the cliff.

I certainly would not put myself in that box. ... especially when there's a viable younger guy you can keep. Don't get me wrong, Shady is a better player - but the risk of the looming suspension (especially if it comes during FF playoff time), is just too great in my mind. ...

I dunno, its at best 50/50 in my mind, and I'd take the over that it's sooner than later. The league and the Ravens didn't wait for Ray Rice, nor the Vikings with AP. Domestic Violence is a different bird, no one wants to give the appearance of being soft on that. Until he's cleared, if he's ever cleared, it'd be better for everyone if he just stays at home.

Yeah... I feel like I have to replace him and Henry is the way to go there. There is a small chance that if he does get cleared between now and our draft, that I could get him back. Or at least him being added to the mix might send someone else around his level (Freeman, Howard, Mixon) to fall to me when I pick at 11. I don't think the reward is worth the risk here, being that the risk could be me completely wasting one of my keeper spots with a guy who could get me absolutely nothing.

    Thanks for your input guys.

They still may announce a suspension.
    He can appeal.
Let all of the investigations take shape.

But if it is announced, his stock will drop like a rock. Because no one will know exactly when it will go into affect. Game 1? Game 10? No owner wants that hanging over their head. Especially for an early round pick.

Yes... I have to keep 2 and they count as my 1st and 2nd round pick. We also keep an IDP, which counts as your 3rd round pick, essentially, but I didn't figure that mattered much in this situation.

One of my keepers is pretty much just that (no IDP though). Difference is we do not declare until midnight the Friday before the draft. So after tomorrow, you do not own Shady anymore, right? So any kind of trade isn't happening. Bummer. Henry and Hill...............could be worse TBH.

I actually tried to move Shady before all this with no luck. The only owner who was trying to add a keeper, ended up making a deal with me for Michael Thomas (which I now have a little seller's remorse after all this, but I still got good value, so I guess it is fine.) So, there's pretty much a zero chance of a trade. And yes, after we declare, he is cut from my team and thrown back in the pool of available players.

You think I should target Dion Lewis if I keep Henry? I'm not sure that is a handcuff situation since Lewis is more of a CoP type back, but I guess if Henry went down, Lewis would step into a "feature back" role.
