They need to check those footballs in Detroit because there were a lot of soft fumbles in Detroit. Sadly, the Chiefs probably just need to work on keeping the ball. Lucky to win that Lions game

Yeah, this defense isn't tenable without Jones there, imo.

This front 7 is very ungood.

CB and EDGE got to be the top priorities in the next draft.

lol which begs the question...

Houston and Ford were allowed to walk WHY...?
Ford makes sense. Liquidate that asset ASAP.

The Houston thing *just to get Frank Clark* makes very little sense to me even still. How is this team not *significantly better* now and in the long term with say Chase Winovich and Justin Houston?

This team is still ok because Hardman and Thornhill project nicely down the line, but this whole situation with Clark is just headache after headache.

DL, EDGE, CB. All need major revamps this offseason due to FA or otherwise.

That 4th quarter against Houston was embarrassing and one of the worst quarters of football I've ever seen. The Chiefs got another turnover in the red zone and lost. The Texans could've very easily won that by 20+ points.

The Chiefs offense snapped the ball 7 times in the 4th quarter. Their best play was their 1st play - a 5yd penalty on Watt. They punted twice & gained (-3) yds on the others. Had the ball for 1:25 the whole quarter.

Teams have almost completely taken away the deep ball and the Chiefs need to run the football more. There really isn't any other way to slice that. Thats fixable, though.

But that defense....wow.

I think the Texans were successful on like 23 out of 25 plays in the fourth quarter just based on watching it unfold. It seemed like they were just getting a first down on every other play with ease. Nobody on the Chiefs pass rush could touch Watson and if they did it was when he was quick enough to blow past them. Chiefs, tbh, need a Safety type of speed spying on him all game.

DL, EDGE, CB. All need major revamps this offseason due to FA or otherwise.
So pretty much the same team needs for the fourth year in a row. We're the Kansas City Falcons right now.

Imo, that Houston game was Andy Reid's worst coaching performance as a Chief. And that includes those playoff collapses.

Honestly a bit funny the secondary hasn't been too bad, but the front 7 is so bad it doesn't even matter. This obsession with grabbing a CB in local media is getting annoying... How about an EDGE and a DT?

Of course, it's all kind of moot if the offense is malfunctioning due to injuries, ankles, or just poor decisionmaking; that's where the W's are coming from in a marathon.

Chiefs do lead the league in defensive holding penalties with 14. Only six other teams in the NFL have more than 6 of those penalties so far this year.

Definitely not good. The passrush has been a much bigger problem than the secondary though...

Really not in the mood to grab a CB only to get bopped in the head watching absolutely nothing positive happen at all from non Clark-Jones players in the front 7.

Clearly the biggest issue is allowing 180+yds rushing a game. The Texans rush offense is one of the most cookie-cutter in the league outside of Watson's scrambling. If they can't keep the Texans from running the ball with Hyde then they have no chance against everyone else.

Chiefs have made more dline moves in the past few seasons than any other position group, though. Frank Clark is supposed to be a franchise type of player with the contract he has. That was the move for this years team.

Its hard to ignore that our linebackers are basically a bunch of cast offs that no one else wanted. Cowboys backups, Jets backups, etc.

Seriously, after last year's loss to the Patriots in the AFCCG, Reid should have bolstered the DL, not hire a DL coach and expect miracles. Instead he pumped up an already outstanding offense and then added McCoy like sprinkling jimmies.

When a coach ignores a serious weakness like being able to stop the run, it becomes worse because other teams use it against the Cheifs. The pound the DL with the run and wear out the guys and then start alternating with the pass because the QB has more time to throw and the DBs get penalized for stupid holding calls because they're running their asses off trying to prevent a total collapse.

Worse......Reid doesn't give a rat shit about the defense. He's handed it over to Romeo Crennel and Andy sits with Mahomes on the bench while the defense is struggling.

In my opinion, Reid is the biggest problem in Kansas City. Don't expect anything to change next year. Reid is offense bound and will add weapons on offense and not do much of anything with the defense. You all will be pulling your hair out again.

The Chiefs signed a ton of players on defense. The issue is that they also probably let three of their best players go.

Apparently they didn't sign the right ones.
