There's a lot of recent bad history with this team and injured players. (Swanson, Calvin, Stafford, Fairley, Levy and the list goes on).

There's an article in the Freep with Jace Billingsley talking about how horrible Quinn and Wood are towards the players.

Why the Lions being fined for deceptive injury reporting is important

Knowingly failing to update the injury status, which is what Patricia did here, is something the NFL takes very seriously. Aside from the competitive advantage angle, this is the exact kind of gamesmanship and untoward flaunting of the rules that organized and professional gamblers exploit.

It’s a sign that Patricia will bend the rules if he can, unwittingly or knowingly. If Patricia truly didn’t know Stafford was not going to play until Sunday morning — and his comments from the time reflect that might be the fact — it reflects a lack of communication between the coaching staff and the medical staff.

If Patricia did know Stafford wasn’t going to play and withheld the information, he’s following the Patriot Way of trying to skirt and exploit rules…and it’s not working. Cheating is bad. Cheating and still failing is even more pathetic.
