NFL.com's Tom Pelissero has reported that the Falcons and Julio Jones are finalizing a multi-year extension.
The extension will reportedly make Jones the NFL's highest-paid receiver. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport added that the deal should end up at three years and be worth roughly $66 million. Pelissero noted that while there are still minor issues to work out, the deal should be done today. Jones showed some hesitation throughout the week in regards to his game status without a new contract, but those issues should be put to rest with confirmation of this deal. He's expected to be shadowed by Xavier Rhodes Sunday against the Vikings, although it's a winnable matchup against a cornerback who was significantly better in 2016-2017 than 2018.

F grade. Look, Julio Jones is worth the money, but this sets a HUGE precedence for other contracts in terms of guaranteed cash. NFL is going to turn into the NBA which has a TERRIBLE contract/money structure. Grats to Julio, is he worth this cash? Probably. Are the Falcons the stupidest org and willing to butt fuck every other franchise and the NFL org? Yep.

I'd be concerned if he had shown any signs of deteriorating . He hasn't . So I'm good . Contract will be up right when Ridley needs extended . By then we will know what's up with both

Are there usually signs of deterioration with a WR before it's too late?

So you’re saying he’s worth it but nobody should pay for it

So you think you should just let the best WR in football go in case he's not still great 3 years from now? I mean there's a chance it's a bad contract the last year but there's no sign of that now so you sign him and call it good . 3 years is reasonable . Not like it's a 5 year deal

Not worth the guaranteed... Worth the overall contract... those have two very different meanings.

True, but he was still going to play regardless of if he had the contract and that says a lot about him.

Just means us fans pay the price as well... Ticket prices will skyrocket even higher now
