After reading some of his quotes in the article, it's clear that he thinks he's owed playing time because he was a 2nd round pick. Entitlement.
Jones has no instincts and was always out of position. The Packers should get what they can for him or just cut him.

If this is true (not calling you a liar), I hope the Packers make it as difficult as they can for this guy to be moved.
Jones doesn't make this team any better. If they get rid of him it will be addition by subtraction.

Packers don't have great safety depth and Jones has been a decent special teams guy. I wouldn't mind keeping him through his rookie contract.

If he signs with another team as a UFA after his contract is fulfilled we could possibly get a compensatory draft pick out of it. If we cut him we get nothing but a $609k dead cap hit. We're only paying him $850k, so it really doesn't help us to cut him now.

His hamstring "injury" reminds me of when Mike McKenzie held out a few years ago and when he showed up, had a hamstring "injury." It was his way of forcing a trade.

NVM I found it. He got chippy on a play. Big deal..I dont mind that. In fact, without Daniels we need more people to play with an edge.

Released. I guess the writing was on the wall. Too bad they couldn’t get anything for him. Oh well, good luck young man. Maybe he can take King with him.

Jones lacks the instincts to be a good defensive player.

King is an injury waiting to happen. He was injured in college and has only played in 15 games the past two seasons.

That’s why I mentioned him. All that talent is useless if he’s always on the bench hurt. GB really needs to rule out players with a history of injuries. I understand it’s a violent sport but some are prone to injury more than others and to me it’s a wasted draft pick.

I know he's only played in 3 preseason games but Rashan Gary is starting to look like a bust. No tackles, no sacks and no pressures.

What a waste of a 2nd round pick. I doubt anyone picks him up after what he showed on film. He'll be working at a car wash soon. I bet he wishes he had shown up for the voluntary work.

Someone will take a shot on him IMO. He is really good if left in the box and can just go. Its when he has to read the field in front of him where he struggles.

Another interesting thing related to his release:

Gute has been all about finding athletes, size speed combo guys, yet he released Jones who was dubbed an athletic guy coming out. Just found it interesting is all

There's always going to be a learning curve for a new GM and there's always going to be hits and misses for every GM. Gute is learning how to pick talent and has done a decent job of it in his first couple chances at it.

I've always contended that big and fast can make you good in high school and college, but everyone is big and fast in the NFL... You need a little extra something in the mind and heart to be good in the NFL.

Oh I completely agree. I just brought it up because it was a change in strategy for him

Jones had no instincts and constantly overran plays.

Gary has size and speed but hasn't made any plays in three preseason games. Looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane.

The vast majority of front-seven guys don't tear the league apart in their rookie year. Mike Daniels didn't become a starter until year 3. Kenny Clark wasn't a starter until year 2. Blake Martinez wasn't ready to start year 1, but was forced into that role early due to injuries and he didn't start making an impact on the field until year 2.

Gary is also only 21 years old. Mike Daniels began making an impact at 25. Let's give the kid some time to develop before we start shitting on him.
