I'm seeing that they picked him up off waivers yesterday?

We started the season with 2 ”solid” starters and a bunch of “hope for rain”ers . Now one of those “hope for rain”ers has established himself as a potential legit #1, but both the legit SPers have become useless tossers and the rest of the staff has run out of gas.
IMHO all of our SP looks like shit now though...We started the season with 2 ”solid” starters and a bunch of “hope for rain”ers . Webb is pitching well enough to probably get some down-ballot CY votes.IMHO all of our SP looks like shit now though...

I expected this starting rotation to perform like this in April and we'd be in a for a long, rebuilding season. Its almost more frustrating that they waited until the other "A" month, August, to fall apart. The upside? Their wait almost assuredly got us into the playoffs. While the playoff picture may seem like it will be a quick exit, anything can happen.pitching and defense was the rule, and we have had that for 3/4 of the season. The starting pitching is being held together with duct tape and baling wire.

I do wonder if this messes up the long term building of this team. So far, though, FZ doesn't seem fazed by the quick success, in terms of selling off the farm.
And hey, at least we didn't pay for a Darvish and see him nose dive.
That is why trading Kilian, in my perspective, was a bigger hit than many thought it was. He was the only guy in the upper minors doing well (unless you count Frisbee's 1st half in AA, before his AAA shellacking and subsequent demotion). Felt like trading the best of a weak area. This certainly helps us rethink the resigning of Gas and Disco. If we had signed them based on their performance through the ASB, they'd have been paid a great deal. Now, not sure that they would be paid that much. Gas seems to have righted himself a bit.
The Giants are developing hitting (the last four games not withstanding), and it is pitching that they need to develop. There are some arms in the low minors that are years away. They may need to keep dumpster diving for starters. They may also need to bite the bullet and sign a stud to anchor the staff, like Scherzer (who will be resigned by the Dogs).
