It's too soon to decide if he's a good GM or not. We'll know a lot more in the next few years.

I can agree with that.

He has some positives right now. If the current situation blows up, even I will question him as GM.

Who's the bigger "doosh"...Elway for refusing to play for the Colts back in '83 or Mr. Irsay (not the one that currently owns the Colts, his father) for moving the franchise outta town overnight on 3-29-84 w/o telling anyone?

Eli Manning yes

His personnel moves in FA and the draft should be exhibit A. He has been especially accomplished in finding later round and undrafted gems. He is certainly better than many of the other leagues GMs.

I think Elway is a good GM and maybe the sauce is talking sometimes. The only bad decision he made was replacing Tebow with Manning

It's too soon to decide if he's a good GM or not. We'll know a lot more in the next few years.

The question was asked "What makes anyone think he could be a good GM?" To me at this point what has he done to make anybody think otherwise? I mean yes I agree it might be a bit soon to make that kind of decision of how good or bad of a GM he is but up to this point I just don't see much that he has done that would make many think he has been a bad GM so far? I mean he took over a 4-12 team that was considered one of the least talented teams in all the NFL and had to fire their coach mid-season because of a major scandal plus the fact that the players were all ready to jump ship. That is what he took over and 3 years later he had the team in the Super Bowl and for the past 3 years has had the team as one of the favorites to win it all. Again just seems like a stupid question to me to ask of whether he could be a good GM or not when so far his record has been top notch.

So let us in on why you hate John so much? Bang your mom causing a divorce? OR maybe he got it with your wife. Whatever it is, let it go man. The hate will consume you

"ever since he pulled his shit in the draft". Read it again Gnarly and get back to me. He certainly wasn't 10-0 against anyone at that point, eh?

So you're mad because he didn't want to play for an org that was being run into the ground with a coach known for running practices like boot camp? Ok...

I do think Elway is/will be a very good GM. And him being the face of Denver as the QB that took them to 5 SB's and 2 Lombardi's is special and stayed in 1 place his whole career.I would love to see Brady be GM of Pats one day

I doubt that Brady would be comfortable as GM. I see him as an analyst for either ESPN or NFL Network.
