Honestly, I think he was the best man for the job that was available.

You will love Fox. Great guy, solid coach.

No, he's not Belichek...but nobody else is, either.

“Sources” are funny that way. It was “sources” that were saying Chris Ballard had the GM job locked up, even before he actually met with Phillips and McCaskey.

Fox is back in Denver, and there’s no mention of a deal yet. That’s not encouraging for those who were hoping he’d get the job. That doesn’t mean he won’t, but still...

Even if it were tweeted by the official team Twitter account, I have two words for you: Dave McGuinness.

Let's not drop the ball and break into a TD dance until we are officially in the end zone. :)

I was just thinking about the Mike McCaskey debacle a few minutes ago…

*shudder*

Former Broncos coach John Fox will [ame=""]get the [/ame]Bears' head-coaching job, reports Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, citing an unnamed NFL executive as his source. Fox and the Broncos parted ways Monday following Denver's 24-13 home loss to the Colts in the divisional playoffs.

Fox went 46-18 and won four straight AFC West titles with the Broncos, but was unable to win a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning and a record-setting offense.

The Bears fired coach Marc Trestman and general manager Phil Emery after a 5-11 season. The team hired Ryan Pace, the Saints' director of pro personnel, to replace Emery.

Thanks Lambeau, I had heard that but couldn't find the source. I'm not quite sure how I feel about Fox but he will most likely be an improvement over Trestman.

Wow, they jumped on and hired John Fox...........................after all the other candidates took other jobs

Still think its an improvement. I think he will have a chip on his shoulder for everyone that thought it was all manning.

He had both 3-4 and 4-3 defenses, pretty sure the bears might have been the only team left that didnt run both 30 and 40 fronts.
