The NFL has allowed teams to move, so even if they opposed a move in the past from Seattle doesn't guarantee a thing.

The team being in Seattle is making the league and other owners money. There's no incentive to move the team to a less profitable location. It won't happen.

Yeah, I don't think a team relocation is any kind of real possibility. If you hit the delete button on the Seahawks right now and then had to place a brand new team in the league somewhere, the most logical choice is right back in Seattle.

As far as the new owner, I bet it's some sort of partnership or conglomerate. A $6-$8B projected price tag seems a bit steep for a single owner, but maybe someone like Bezos or Elon could/would pull that off.

Reports are that Allen's will prohibits the new owner moving the team.

What kind of idiot would buy a championship (fingers crossed) team with a highly profitable stadium deal and move them?

There's so many loopholes and ways to owners to 'move teams'... lol.. "But 75% of the owners have to vote!" more like 75% of the owners have to be paid off 'quietly'. Lawyers are happy to help.

Keaton said it best in The Founder: "Contracts are like hearts. They're made to be broken."

I'm hoping that doesn't happen obviously, but if an owner wants to buy and move - they can make it happen. It's just how much they're willing to spend.

If it did, watch it end up as the San Diego Seahawks lol.. cause California needs another f'ing team.

Billionaires are by definition pretty good business people. Moving a successful football team to San Diego would one of the dumbest business moves in history.

Sad, Jody stepped up and made decisions that led to a SB. She lived up to her brother's legacy.
Sad to see Jody go but really cool that both brother and sister each earned their respective SB rings. Allen legacy will live on with this regime and all Hawks fans.

Revenue Sharing. Any individual team becoming less profitable hits every other owner in the wallet. It's hard to envision the Seahawks being more profitable by moving out of Seattle. What are the potential locations that are bigger markets, aren't already saturated with teams, or haven't already failed as an NFL city? I mean if you wiped the Seahawks from the league right now, and then put a new team back in the league, wouldn't Seattle be the obvious location? The team isn't moving.

I will apply the same amount of pessimism and worry I do to the Seahawks games to reverse jinx us.... :D

I believe the NFL made a rule saying no other team can be like the Packers ownership

Why the Packers stand alone in the NFL

Given what I’ve told you above, you may be somewhat surprised to learn that the NFL does not allow public ownership of teams. That’s right, the Packers are the exception. The team’s nonprofit corporate structure has been in place since 1923. When the league banned public ownership in 1960, Green Bay got a pass. Five further sales have taken place since the original one: 1935, 1950, 1997, 2011 and 2021.

We won't relocate... But never say never... Who'd a thought Cleveland would've been relocated to Baltimore when they were...

The league will not allow anyone to relocate the Seahawks especially now that Vegas is off the table I can't imagine a city that would pull better numbers than Seattle right now.
