With all the hype and rumors flying about Jimmy G being a good fit in Seattle or Seattle picking up Mayfield if/when he gets waived, which of these 2 QB's would you rather have on opening day?

I'm not a huge fan of either so it would be a tough choice for me... If I had to choose, I would role with Jimmy G over Baker though at this point...

Neither. If I had to pick one I'd go with the cheapest option which likely be Mayfield.

Mayfield still has the better upside. They're both otherwise pretty meh.

I think Baker is getting a raw deal, Just like Drew Brees got from the chargers. Now I am not even saying he is going to be another Drew Brees I'm just saying I think he is and will be better than what we have seen so far. It's the BROWNS! Tom Brady would be hard pressed to do better lol.

Until that org. does something I can't place it on one person, He has made them somewhat competitive for the first time in well what feels like forever lol.

He's never averaged alotta ypg, 235.4. His TD to int ratio is decent, 92/56. But his completion percentage isn't good, only 61.6 (wasn't even top 25 last season). And only Trevor Lawrence averaged fewer ypg last season.

He had a damn good rookie year. Took a team that had won 4 games the previous 3 seasons and went 6-7 (also set the rookie TD passing mark)

His second year was bad. But I put that more on Freddie Kitchens. He had no business being a HC.

Everything seemed to be coming together in his third year. Decent numbers. 11 wins and a road playoff win.

Then reality for Browns fans set back in last season. He was too banged up and shouldn't have been playing. Not sure if he was too stubborn to admit how dinged up he was or that Stepanski had little to no faith in the back up. Doesn't matter now though obviously.

I'm personally glad he's gone. Never been a fan of his.

And you mentioned the organization. There's a reason why I've said multiple times since their return in '99 no team does organizational dysfunction like the Browns.

Russell Wilson's YPG Passing his first 3 seasons. 194, 209 and 217. His career average YPG Passing 234. Those are Stats on a good team not the Browns. Now these are not apples to apples it never is when talking about different players on different teams but I think you see what I mean. Better coaching and more around him with a better play caller and play book Mayfield could succeed. ( Could did not say Would )

I may be adding too much to the argument, but I feel the argument is much more nuanced since the Rams won. Nearly 25% of their cap was wrapped up in their starting QB (10.69% for Stafford, 13% for Goff). The Rams had $47 million of the cap tied up in QBs. Despite that - they won.

The caveat - the Rams dead cap situation ($46 million) should have been a killer, but obviously it wasn't. I can't even tell you if there's ever been a team with more than 25% of their cap as dead money, and I'd say that in any normal year that dead money would mean the team would be dreadful.

Following traditional salary cap numbers, the Rams had no chance of winning the Super Bowl, but they did. We'll see if anyone can duplicate it - but it appears there are going to be plenty of teams who will try. Honestly, with those numbers, I'd expect 2018-19 Cardinals (8-23-1) much more than Super Bowl Champions.

BM was a # 1 overall pick. Wilson was the 75th pick. Much more is expected from a # 1 pick than a 3rd round pick.

And after four seasons Wilson was 46-18 (BM's 29-30) & 7-3 in the playoffs with a ring.

Wilsons record if he played for the Browns wouldn't have been close to what it was with the Hawks.

Do you even understand what I was saying? It seems like you don't. BM isn't in the same category as Wilson. The stats I mentioned prove that.

And remember you're the one that went outta your way to mention Wilson's ypg his first three seasons. So you tried to make a Wilson/BM comparison for some strange reason when I wasn't comparing the two.

Not a Seahawks fan but Jimmy G is the better fit to win the next couple of seasons. His stats are better, he knows the division, and he understands his role.

The Seahawks aren’t looking to build around their 2022 QB. They just want a guy who helps them for now.

Wanna bet?
They won't release him for the simple fact Seattle would snap him up in a second.....

They'll trade him or just keep him as an insurance policy to an untested Lance.

Given the choice, I go another option.

Seriously though, it's Jimmy, because he actually seems like a leader despite his lack of overall talent.
