I just saw a story about him that says he wasn't feeling well and it said he was awaiting results on his coronavirus test. The thing that shocked me about the article is in it he was described only as "the Real Housewives of (whatever, I forget which one)" star. Dude has a 60 career WAR, .904 career OPS, almost 400 bombs. No respect at all. He should be in Hall of Fame discussions.

that's like calling Mark Hamill "the guy from 'Corvette Summer'"

he was very good with the Angels, but he took it to another level in STL. Rolen/Edmonds/Pujols was an absolute force in 2004. crazy to think they had missed out on a career year from J.D. Drew, though that wasn't exactly a bad trade for STL.

fairly short career (or at least oft-injured), but I think his peak is strong enough. he was also a good postseason hitter (.274/.361/.513 in 64 games). it's pretty ridiculous he fell off the ballot as quickly as he did.

But we both know the Hall elitests won't allow 'roiders like Edmonds in. Has any team every had a higher concentration of 'roiders than circa-88 Oakland A's or circa-2001 Anaheim Angels?

Edmonds was pretty bad in the '04 WS and didn't do much in '06...he is probably best remembered for standing there looking perplexed after being backwards Ked on a inside change from Keith Foulke that was well framed by Varitek to end the top of the 8th in Game 1 of the '04 WS with the score tied and men on.
If Jim had played well in those two WS, he'd probably be better remembered today.

Pretty good outfielder too. Seemed like a prick off the field though and he’s a really bad announcer. Monotone monotone monotone.

I never really tried to break it down by team like that but '88 the Oakland A's I think were the first where it was really obvious. Nothing sticks out on the 2001 Angels to me, maybe because they were kind of a forgettable team. The 2001 Cardinals obviously had McGwire and Edmonds. The '93 Phillies were a big steroid team too.

But steroids or not, a 15 year major leaguer deserves a little more respect than to be called "real housewives star". Then again, they did call him a "star", so there's that.....

That's because you were reading an article for gays or women.

Yeah, that makes sense. I think I just saw the headline but didn't pay attention to where it came from.

I think Corvette Summer was his best movie.

Troy Glaus, Tim Salmon, Jim Edmonds

You're joking, right?
Well it has been almost 20 years. And also Jim Edmonds was in St. Louis by then.

Yeah, but obviously the other one is more popular. Notice there haven't been any sequels or prequels to Corvette Summer. Then again maybe there should have been-I'd really like to know what would compel a high school principal to start running a chop shop.....
