Bill Parcells/Sean Payton are responsible for Tony Romo, not Jerry.

You're correct.........And you could make the case that Troy Aikman was Jimmy Johnson's pick.........
because of course, Jimmy was the "REAL" gm of the 90's COWBOYS

There was also a guy named Steve Walsh in that mix that played for JJ at Miami. So really who knows if JJ just wanted Walsh for trade bait, which he was eventually was

Kind of ironic- Walsh was good enuff for JJ in college, but not the NFL. Aikman wasn't good enough for Switzer in college so he transferred, but Switzer rode him in the NFL

Just so I can follow the discussion. Bad moves under Jerry's watch we attribute to Jerry; Good moves, not Jerry?

It's been like that forever. You do know it was Jerry that made Eve eat that apple.

The biggest move Jerry ever made is the one he never gets credit for, hiring Jimmy in the 1st place. I remember throughout the 1-15 season, every talking head ripped Jerry and talking about Jimmy being overmatched. A lot of owners would have buckled and fired Jimmy after 1-15. If not for the salary cap being instituted at the very height of their success, I seriously doubt the Cowboys would have struggled for 20 years. Either way, whatever they've been doing the last 3-4 years seems to be working ... if McClay is as good at finding QB's in the draft as OL, the Cowboys could be in for a nice run

I do not recall saying this. However, I will say there were many more good moves while Jimmy and Bill were there (there were bad moves as well, Bobby Carpenter). Probably just coincidence though.
