I think that generally the geniuses who "toe the line and follow the rules" are a different group from the ones who don't and the latter are often somewhat frowned upon by the former. Respected, but frowned upon.

He's gonna win it I think. They can all answer the questions but he plays the game better.

Jennings seems like he is slightly better than James at jeopardy in general and now that he's adopted how James plays the game, he has the advantage. How did the other guy keep beating Jennings in tournaments before? James is also getting killed by the other guy getting virtually every daily double despite getting to pick the fewest answers.
