Seems like Mahomes was much or more Reid and Veech than Dorsey.

Have to say dumping McCracken seems like an odd move. Glad he saw value in Paul D here.
Actually from what I read, Reid was basically told he had no choice. Dorsey and Veech both seemed to love Mahomes, at least more than Reid.

Where is McCracken now?

What does that have to do with anything?

Most of the Dorsey influence is gone next year outside of Kelce, Jones and the oline.
Dorsey's influence got the Chiefs to within a minuscule offsides call from being in the Super Bowl. If Veech fails to maintain that level of success, Dorsey will also be known as the last guy to put together a championship-caliber team in KC.

If nothing else. the guy knows how to time departures/hires. Comes to KC with a championship level coach, the #1 pick and nowhere to go but up. Does more than solid work but gets let go when the cap is starting to catch up to them.

Joins the Browns at end of 0-16 with the 1, 4, 33 and 35th pick and a shitload of cap space. And, again, nowhere to go but up.

Like what he's done so far.

Sort of. Dorsey would still need to do well with the Browns to get credit. Otherwise most if not all people will point to Tyreek Hill being irreplaceable.

See I keep hearing the cap was so bad, but that didn't stop their new GM from immediately going out after Dorsey was let go and backing the Brinks truck up to get Sammy Watkins, which IMO could end up being a worse contract than Bowe, as well as signing big name guys like Mathieu and Frank Clark the next season. I just don't see this as being in "cap hell" as so many people say they were in.

I'd say he's already cemented his spot in Cleveland. If we win a division and a playoff game, he's already done what hasn't happened in Cleveland in over two decades. Hell we've only won 7 games two other times in the last 17 years and he did it with a rookie QB and two different head coaches, one of which is the worst HC in the modern NFL era. Unless we just get pummeled with injuries for the next 3 years, I'd say we're in good shape.

Oh, I fully agree that the Sammy Watkins and the Anthony Hitchens contracts are worse than anything Dorsey did. I actually dont mind the Frank Clark contract

But isn't this from after the draft? Not saying it's not true, but no more credible than the other report.
It is, but it has actual quotes and a timeline of events that were recorded. He had basically already confirmed that Mahomes was his #1 guy before anyone knew what he was about to do the following year. I guess I don't see why he would take credit for it for no reason.

Shit, forgot all about Hitchens. That was an awful deal. If Clark is healthy and keeps his nose clean, it could end up being a fine contract.

You don't see why he'd take credit? How would it make him look if he said, "ya know what...I just did what Reid and Veach wanted, and really had little to do with the choice."? Not saying he didn't have a huge say, but nothing to gain by telling the truth if he didn't.

As for saying Mahomes was his guy what GM doesn't say that about his pick?

It was an awful deal but its actually possible that he might be decent next year with the Chiefs formation switch.

Veach's entire reputation is going to hinge on whether he can take KC's embarrassing defense and at least make it top 20.

Nobody could get it right for the Browns for the last 20+ years, that means A LOT. Literally the most important position is QB and he looks to hit it on the money. Nothing else really matters if you have your QB. So yeah you can have all the picks in the world but if you can't find talent and your QB it doesn't mean shit. Looks like he found the Chiefs and Browns their guy. Not too bad.

No cause the Browns fans ain't talking........

Again its the "media hyping " the Browns......

If you would've scrolled down further I stated that

Media and other fans are definitely talking about the Browns but it seems like when we bring up Dorsey than people can't seem to get away from that conversation lol
