He was supposed to be on his way for a meet with Tennessee ..this from his own twitter account.

I guess he got a phone call before he boarded.

I like the signing, a good pass rusher and he could be a breath of fresh air at DE. But the contract is a tad too much (mainly time) for a 32 year old. We'll just have to see how it is structured. Certainly an instant upgrade to the DLine.

I am happy of this signing and hoping we add a FS now. We have addressed pretty much ever need but FS which is short in the draft so hoping we land a FA or get lucky in the draft.

I agree. I don't like the contract at all for a 32 year old player who had one good year. It fills a need at DE. The question is will Bowen be released? I dying to see how this contract is broken out. Well guys here is our big splash for FA.

Did he get more money than Arthur Jones who is 28 years old?

tad? he got more money than Arthur Jones. IF we keep Bowen that would mean Jenkins and Baker are the backups. I guess you can cross off DE from the draft list. Geathers will battle Neild for the backup NT position.

no doubt its an upgrade. Once again the money doesn't make sense. Was there a strong market for him at his age? Were we bidding against ourselves? Big Splash FA. No doubt.

Yes, slightly more at a glance/on paper. I wouldn't expect the contract as a whole will be quite as good though. Hopefully it will be laid out similar to DHalls so that if we need to send him out towards the end, it won't hurt us too badly.

I know at least one other team was interested. And I'm assuming it's the sort of deal we could get out of after a couple years. And he's a good player so until we have definite word on the contract I'm happy with it.

I heard the Raiders and Titans. I'm anxious to see this deal. Bowen and Hatcher does sound nasty.

Terrible signing and sends the wrong message about our so called "plans". He is 32 years old and would not figure into the young, cheaper sign, build the roster of core players type move. I tell ya, Allen is all over the board and we have zero chance of contending this coming year or next so why sign this player to that type of money. Hell, give Jones that money or a little more since he is younger and would fit into the "plans".
