James Worthy Is Helping Coach The Lakers Now

James Worthy has been asked to come in and help, so he is giving up some free time once a week to teach all of the young guys some solid defensive and offensive moves with good foot work. Best News I've heard since D'antoni left and Scott came on board

If true, that's pretty cool. Good to see Byron is willing to bring in some of the Showtime guys to help out. Imagine what Randle could be like if Worthy taught him some his HIS post moves.

Man this gets better everyday. B. Scott is recapturing the old-school, championship mentality of the franchise under Dr. Buss and they are playing with improved D which gives me encouragement that the O will catch fire especially with Worthy coming on board in the manner Kareem did in recent history. Now we have several of the old champions in the coaching realm with Scott, Madsen, and now Worthy. This team can only get better with the present roster. The rebuild is in full swing now and things are looking very good from where I sit.

A recent Backstage Lakers had a segment showing Big Game working with the bigs. He was teaching them low post footwork and positioning. Randle was very engaged. I'm sure you can still find the segment on the TWC Sportsnet website.

I was quite surprised and happy - that was a huge step in the right direction. No player in the NBA could ask for a better teacher than James Worthy and hopefully Kareem in the near future
