Something not talked about is if Manning signs with Ten does that effectively end Locker's run with the Titans? Teams don't spend a top 10 pick on a QB to sit for his entire rookie contract or be an insurance policy. I understand it's Manning but doesn't it mean that they're giving up on Locker? No way he re-signs with the Titans if Manning is healthy his whole run.

it isn't like they knew manning would be available. plus locker is the ultimate boom and bust top 10 pick. developing behind manning would be a great situation for locker

I would imagine they would at least keep him a season just to make sure on Manning but I could see them trading him for picks to make a Super Bowl run in 2013.

i'd be shocked if they got a 1st for locker. they reached big time in a weak draft

The owner forced his front office to go after Peyton. The same owner who forced his team to draft Vince Young when their head coach wanted Cutler. Not exactly the kind of everybody on the same page structure I would want to be a part of.

Locker should be able to tolerate 2, maybe 3 years tops, sitting behind Manning.

Rodgers tolerated sitting behind Favre.

The difference is Locker was drafted to be the savior because he was a top 10 pick. Rodgers was drafted to eventually replace Favre.

Kevin Kolb got 2 second rounders. Locker will get at least a 1. Especially if he keeps performing well in the preseason.

Even if they sign Peyton, i can't imagine Locker will be going anywhere. I would think Hasselback would be the odd man out and Locker would be the guy in waiting. However, if they sign Peyton to a 5 year deal maybe they do trade him and try to beef up the rest of the team. I would give them our 1st and 3rd.

I'd much rather have Peyton Manning. I just like Locker a lot better than Kaepernick. Keep in mind that it's a low 1st and 3rd round pick.

I love the idea of trading for Locker if the Niners can't get Peyton.

Because you don't like Locker's potential? Or because you think Center is more valuable?

never was a fan of his. he'll look like elway one play then completely horrible the next

Locker is not going anywhere anymore than Kaepernick is if we sign Manning. They just becomes the guy that will eventually replace a Legend. I honestly think Peyton only has 2 or 3 really good years left. If he gives you good ones then you will not have high draft picks to be taking a QB during those years. What's really wrong with a guy spending his first 4 or 5 years on the bench? Did it effect Steve Young's ability to be a Hall of Fame QB? Aaron Rodgers spent 3 years behind Farve becoming an after thought of the Packers draft, and now he might be the best QB in the NFL.
