Sad news about best but I wouldn't write their running game off.Smith stepped up but they also drafted Mikel Leshoure last year as well.I thought he was a steal when they drafted him given the opportunity he could wind up being an even bigger steal than most people originally thought.The kid has size and speed

I like Best. He is a Pac 10 guy. I hope he is able to get 100% and play. Do guys get any type of insurance in case of career ending injuries??

i'm sure they do. college players can get insurance if they go back for their senior year

Love the sentiment, but if the Niners hadn't done it, another team would have. Best has tremendous talent, but it's a contact sport, and his noggin couldn't take it.

I realized upon re-reading it that that post may have sounded callous. To clarify, I love the Niners' hard-hitting D. I feel very bad for Jahvid Best that his promising career may be over before it really began. I followed him a bit in college and was pulling for him to succeed in the NFL.

Definitely one of my fav players to enter the draft in the last 5 years. I hope this news doesn't come to fruition.
