Anyone have any idea what they're gonna be doing at this position all year?

Chris Conley
Dede Westbrook
DJ Chark
Marqise Lee
Keelan Cole
Terrelle Pryor

Some thoughts:
Assuming the last two are worthless, but they've produced at times before.
Lee is hurt for a while, but #1 upon return?
Dede should be the #1 with 100 catches, but that's not what it currently looks like. Seems like the slot guy.
Word is Chark is better than last year, but he's not a #1, just big and fast.
Could Conley have finally developed his physical tools into a usable WR?

Foles is gonna throw for like 4500 and 30 TDs if it all works and like 4000 and 25 anyway. What the hell is gonna be the distribution here?

I like Dede the most, especially since Lee is coming off that ACL injury.

Dede - I think he has a breakout year and becomes the clear #1 but I think his strength is playing out of the slot...still doesn't mean he can't be the #1 for the Jags
Lee - recovering from ACL. Still a very nice #2 for Foles
Conley - a good option at #3 but can't really be trusted to be consistent at this point
Chark - haven't seen much from him

Chark and Conley will have a few big games. Good luck starting them when they do. (Both are getting good raves this summer though)

But Westbrook will be the closest to consistency.

If Lee plays one game, I'll be irrelevantly surprised.

As the local guy down here in Jax I will share my insight gleaned from the radio guys.

Dede is expected to have a "big" year. I also think he will be the most fantasy relevant this year.

They expect Lee back but he tore his entre knee up in the preseason last year so it hasnt even been a year yet but he is on track to play at some point this year.

Chark has the physical tools but his hands are a bit questionable IMO

Conley is another Moncriefeque flier they took but he has shown serious flashes in camp. He has mixed it up with the starting DBs this year and that can only help him as he wont see anyone nearly that good against the rest of the league since he's not the 1.

I would rank them as follows:

Westbrook
Conley
Lee
Chark
Cole

Thought I read somewhere that Foles and Conley played together before, so they have a connection. That could be a factor .

The latest news...

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said Marqise Lee (knee, active/PUP) may not be ready for the start of the season.

This isn't a huge surprise after Lee opened training camp on active/PUP. Lee looks like a longshot for Week 1, and it's not a lock he avoids reserve/PUP, which would cost him the first six games. Even when healthy, Lee may struggle for a role behind Dede Westbrook, D.J. Chark, and Chris Conley.

So you have to think at best he is there at Week 3 or 4. At worst he could miss most of the season...who knows.

Avoid all if possible, but if you hit on the most productive one, should be nice steal.

I'm not as optimistic in Foles as you are, but that has more to do with him failing miserably as "the guy" anytime he's been given the chance. Almost like he prefers to be the injury replacement guy vs the leader of the team.

Jags won't be the first team to buy a ticket for the BDN Express, but he could thrive in a game manager role with a strong defense supporting the team.

Dede is worth a shot later in the draft. None of the others are worth taking. But like you should early in the season with all teams, check the stats after the first couple of games to see where the targets are going.

Perhaps as of now this seems like a wasted argument?

Foles has been awful outside of the Eagles org. No one seems to have taken hold of the starting WR role. And even OC John DeFilippo couldn't scrape himself from the bottom of the offensive rankings in Minny with the likes of Cousins, Diggs and Thielen. (Not to mention squandering good field position by the Vikes D.)

Could be an identical situation in Jacksonville. Which means that Foles and 2 favorite WR targets could end up in the top 15.

Some will say Cousins had a bad season if over 4000 yards and 30 TD is terrible. He also attempted over 600 passes (ranked 4th last year).

It may not be important now, but a pair of WR in JAX will be waiver wire gems at some point.

Number one defenders don't always defend number one receivers.

True. But when they don’t it is generally because the number one is getting double teamed. And if so, then you might as well call it the number one.
