The Raiders are right on the edge of being competitive. JDR could end up looking really smart taking this job. Lots of cap space, a promising quarterback, and some good young players. The Raiders will be back very soon.

I doubt it, even the last 7 Raider coaches made it an average of 1.7 years, that would put him somewhere into the '16 season no?

I would say "don't be stupid" but I doubt that is an option for you. Broncos fans complained about him all season and many wanted him gone for the past year or two. He misused talent this year and refused to make adjustments until a game was decided. He went prevent defense when we were up by 3 TDs and there was an entire half to play. It has nothing to do with him going to the raiders and before this season I had no complaints.

If you need proof, go to the broncos board and look at old game threads. There comments referring to having Talib play off-zone (not his style) or DBs playing off when the opposing team needed a whopping 4 yards for 1st down. The are critiques of Von Miller dropping into coverage multiple times during the broncos-pats game.

Or you can keep proving you have shit for brains; your choice.

Guess you haven't been reading the Broncos board if you think this is true. We have been ticked off all year long at how he has ran this defense. There is no reason on a 3rd and long that our best pass rusher who is average at best dropping into coverage should be out in coverage. Yet time and again this is exactly what happened all year long. Same with our Corners in we have 2 very elite corners yet on 3rd and 5 plays lets have them play off man coverage 15 yards deep. Or the fact that there were many plays our FS was actually 30-40 yards off the field essentially eliminating them from 95% of all plays.

I wish we could be there for the interviews. My only concern is if there is any pressure to win now vs, lets take our time and build thru the draft. I am guessing that the Raiders would be the last front office that would blow all that cap space trying to win now given their recent history. It was not an easy hole to dig out of.

I will say I think the raiders are heading in the right direction and Del Rio will help with that. He did some wonderful things with FAs that most teams thought were crap. As long as the front office can keep talent coming in the raiders will improve.

Maybe, I don't know much about JDR. A lot will depend on the front office and how well they draft. They still need a lot of players. If he has to win today, he is likely screwed already.

This is NFL musical chairs and everybody hires someone who was a failure at their last job. Unless they take a chance and hire up and coming coordinators or take a chance on some college coach.

I just though this could be one of the easier coaching jobs as the expectations should be somewhat reasonable.
