No but seriously why aren't vets like these guys getting picked up? Is Johnsson seriously not a servicable NHL dman anymore?

Ross -- I actually though Johnsson was pretty much used up before he left Philly in 06.

He could skate with the best of em, but man, that dude just could not take a hit to save his soul!

I wouldn't mind Mike Mottau on the Sharks for cheap.....cue the Doug Wilson press conference where Mottau is signed to a 3 year $10.5mil contract ;-)~

As for Johnsson Ross, I like him, but he's just way, way, way too injury prone. And he's probably not willing to play for cheap.

Simple teams are locking up the core players. Players like these two have to wait until the dust settles. Heck Kovalchuk hasn't signed yet.

Was he that bad Devs? I always thought he seemed like a pretty solid citizen in his own end when i watched the Devils.

Mottau was known to make many, many poor decisions. When you're an undersized guy with a limited skill set you have to be smart, so when he had a mental lapse here and there it almost always cost us. Pinching at the wrong time, making an ill advised pass in our own end, coughing up the puck in the corner, holding on to the puck too long, you name it he did it.
